Firstly I'm glad you are safe. Second, I very happy to know you're are not selling the mr2. I recently purchased a mark 3 and you are part of the inspiration behind my motivation. Consider live streaming some of the repair, I think your audience might enjoy that.

I'm late to the party, but had to comment - couldn't help but laugh when you said "one of those days", because that's, verbatim, what I remarked to a pedestrian who'd just watched me spin out, hop a curb onto a sidewalk, and casually proceed to drive down the sidewalk to get back onto the pavement, on a very wet and cold day. So many days seem to be "one of those days" with an MRS, but it's always a labor of love.

Favorite quote "it's Toyota so it's not that expensive", maybe true for a corolla but I've found oem MR2 parts to be anything but cheap lol.

Hello Mr. Stark....What happened? So happy you are safe. Easy to repair/replace car, but not as easy to replace the guy that gave me the inspiration and support to FULL DIVE a 2zz swap. Happy Holidays and best wishes for the New Year! Mr. P PS: Headlight easy and think you can even buy the cover as a component from Toyota. Also used and aftermarket....as I'm sure you know.

Yikes sorry man. I have the same car so seeing this makes me sad. Also the same thing happened to me. Luckily just had some panel and stabilizer damage. Was able to get her back together so good luck.

I have a few Spyder parts remaining. Glad you're okay. I spun mine around and kissed a stone wall; ended up buying an entire spare Spyder to fix mine. Let me know what you need.

I’ve always been scared crashing mine, had experienced a spin on the rain In my corolla, also crashed it in the snow, so I’m extra careful and have a lot of anxiety when I drive in those conditions... I had never had the back end break out on me before and I have really pushed it so it was a surprise when it did. If that pole had not been there I would have driven away.

I did do repairs and got it back on the road but then it was hit by a landscape truck while parked on the street. I got a settlement and sold the car. It has a great new owner who is working to bring it back to life.

Hi Glad to see the car isn’t totalled, how is the repair coming on? It sounds like parts are harder to come by where you are than in the UK, plenty of breakers over here for the fender and the headlight!

Sorry to hear about this :( Were you able to salvage the car? It being repaired or are you still parting it out? If you gave up on her and are parting out let me know. I could probably make you an offer on some of the parts as I just bought a 01 a couple months back. Again huge bummer about the crash

Well that sucks. I spun out one time in the rain when my tires hit that painted white line, but I was lucky and didn't hit anything hard. Snap spin sucks! Good luck with the rebuild. I'll be watching. Also, shouldn't you take the other side off too to see the differences? Kind of hard to tell, just looking at one side isn't it?

That’s so unfortunate. I was enjoying your videos until I got to this one, luckily nothing serious happened to you or anyone else. Also, I notice we may live in the same area! Fairfax Co. you are in? I’m in Arlington but drive around fairfax often. I just got a 2001 MRS in the same color as yours and I’m trying to learn more about the car. Bc racing will sell individual coil overs. Or all the pieces you need to rebuild yours.

The light poles are designed to shear off, so it minimizes the chance of injury if someone hits it, sort of like crumple zones in a car. Most large sign poles without a soft base like this have shear bolts holding them in place, same theory.

This video was a roller coaster of emotion. Glad to see she will be back on the road at some point. I used both you and Touge Time as inspiration for my own 2zzge project. Your videos were EXTREMELY helpful after gleefully ripping the 1zz out and forgetting what went where.

Did you drop ur guts at 4:24?.....sounded like you shatt yourself lol, must of been delayed shock from the accident :)

Bummer. I am sure you will get it up and running. If you have to do steering as well then go unassisted steering. I find the assisted steering on MRS to be very vague in rain.

Hello g s, With all due respect, I find it easier to navigate slow driving and possible unintentional over-steer at higher speeds with the power steering system in place on vehicle. Get some tires and alignment, the results are priceless. Mr. P

It has been a long process with more parts to replace than expected. Almost done. I lost a bunch of video of the process so I have not been able to do an update but will have a summary of the work soon.

I did get most of the damages repaired from this little crash. Unfortunately, a truck ran into it while parked on the side of the road. I ended up selling it to a young man who was very excited to make the repairs and continue to build it.

It certainly is a tough decision when to decide to move on from a project car. I have so much invested in the car that I can't get back at this point I am not sure if selling is better than keeping it.

I actually sold the car to a young man who brought it back to beautiful shape and last I saw painted it and a hard top a beautiful blue.

​@@StarkReality Still got mine, really had to spin it out hundreds and hundreds of times on the hardest roads to learn how to drive these things at the limits. Staggered tires, full cusco bracing, and BCs 5k/7k whiteline sway bars and its on rails, just nooooooooo breaking mid corner. Sorry it happened, I truly believe because you had square tire setup.
