I found this on Spotify, while telling a buddy about this band from the 90's and early 00's that was far better than any of their singles, I was going on about the great ensemble and hauntingly deep voice of the lead singer, when ol' Spotsy let's me in on this nugget of harmonic meditations. So here I am, to thank the Crash Test Dummies. Thanks, you crazy Canadians. Never stop.

I have only ‘discovered’ CTD in the last month or two. I was aware of Mmm Mmm Mmm of course, but until recently had no idea how damn good they were or how much I would grow to love Brad Roberts’ voice. This band is truly special and I’m grateful for each of them.

At last! Finally a new beautiful single with this unsurpassed, wonderful voice of Brad Roberts. I missed him for so long, but always consoled myself with the old recordings. I hope that another CD will be created that will delight us, the fans addicted to this voice!

Thank you for this song Brad and CTD! Experienced performance of Sacred Alphabet at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Being outside - in the darkness, under the stars (beautiful night in Cleveland, BTW), added to the song's essence.

Lovely song. However, I would really love something a bit more upbeat, like the first three albums. There is nothing as incredible as the way songs like Afternoons & Coffespoons, I'm A Dog, I'm Outlived (By That Thing), and In the Days of the Caveman sound. Those 4 in particular are absolutely tops. Not just of CTD, but of any musician/group EVER. PLEASE make more songs that have drums, that trademark slow strum, those amazing bass lines, and sprinkles of piano, with the random harmonica or kazoo. Anyway, it's nice to hear new stuff!! I will always be a fan, if even only of the first three records. Cheers.

"'In the beginning was the Word...' Already I am stopped, it seems absurd. The Word does not deserve the highest prize, I must translate it otherwise If I am well-inspired and not blind. It says: 'In the beginning was the Mind...' Ponder that first line, wait and see, Lest you should write too hastily. Is Mind the all-creating Source? It ought to say: 'In the beginning there was Force... ' Yet something warns me as I grasp the pen, That my translation must be changed again. The Spirit helps me. Now it is exact. I write: 'In the beginning was the Act...'" - Johann Wolfgang Goethe (transl. Walter Kaufmann), Faust

Sadness & no light in their music…such a waste of talent. People need hope & inspiration….although could be used to create dark emotions in theater/movies to create a dark feel in the crowd. The songs are storytelling not much for entertainment as a positive for a world needing hope & love.
