I was (still kinda am) a poorass kid, we couldn't afford to get new games so I kept renting the crash games from the VideoEZ store over and over and over to the point where the dude running the shop just came over to me and said 'no one else is renting them, you can just have em'. I scored the first 3 games and Crash team racing. Best day ever.

It's not any harder than the original games, so that point is pretty unnecessary. It's not that the game is hard, it's that most modern games, save dark souls, have babied gamers and catered to impatience.

It felt weird completing 3 games in 4 days :D But it was the most fun and rage filled 4 days I've had in a long time :D Now I remember where it all went wrong for me, playing Crash Bandicoot as a kid will shorten your life spand with 10 years sure it's a kids game but some levels will give you a mental breakdown especially when you're one step from a Check Point and you screw up and you do the same mistake over and over or get killed by something else 17 times.

Only crash game i played was Wrath of Cortex. Good graphics and i lived in that game. Probably gonna buy this now!

Made me sad when he said only the first game didn’t hold up well.. that’s my favorite one! Prob cuz it was my first and also the main one I played.. I played number 2 and yah it was better in some was more pleasing to look at but I played 2 like quick fast just burned threw it.. maybe played some of the good levels repeatedly but went threw it fast where was crash one I played frontwards backwards sideways and every way.. with friends by myself with my mom sometimes.. dam i miss my mom.. r.i.p

Cuphead, though not frustrating for me or even too hard (its hard, don't get me wrong), makes me feel satisfied after beating any boss in the game. Will crash do the same. Weird to be commenting 6 years later, but yeah

I remember waking up at 5 am in the morning when I was 4 or 5 years old just so I could play Crash Bandicoot, I was lucky enough to own all three games on my PS1 and I spent more hours than I could count playing these games, this Trilogy really brought back some of my fondest memories, that said, PS1 era games didn't fuck around, these games are hard as balls

Arsen Garibyan Shit, I'd go even further and say remaster all of the good PS1 mascot platformers. Give me Spyro, but let's have Croc and Gex come back from the grave too. As a kid that had the PS1 and not the N64, I have way more nostalgia for those than I could ever have for Mario 64. Even if the jumping is ever so slightly off in Crash 1, I'm still having an amazing time with this set, and I'd love more of them.

You cant really start collecting regular gems till the third island anyways. You gotta get the colores ones and then back track.

I'm only 15 years old, which means I was late to coming across the original play station, but when I was around 6 or 7 I went to this daycare in my neighborhood and they had a play station with only 4 games, the crash trilogy and spyro. I would play these games all the time and very much enjoyed them. Even though I was late to seeing crash in his prime it still makes me nostalgic hearing these sounds again.

I'm 16 lmao and I never really grew up on the original trilogy. I played Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity first and I loved them. Years later when I was about 13 I purchased the original games on PS3 and I played and beat them all 100% and absolutely loved it. Naturally hearing that this collection wad coming, I was super excited and I pre ordered in a heartbeat. Playing it now, it's amazing and it really improved on the originals and is a must buy from me

This game came out when I was ten, than this awesome remake comes out now that I'm thirty and playing it with my kids! By the time I'm fifty, I'll be playing they remake of this remake with my grandkids,lol!😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Crash series holds a very special place in my heart. Before i actually played video games i used to watch my older sisters and cousins play video games. It was really fun just watching someone else play (which is why i totally understand the appeal of “let’s play” videos). But the time came when i played video games on my own. I was pretty young so there were games that were too complex or hard for me at the time. Crash bandicoot warped (the third game in the series) was the very first game i finished on my own. I then played the second game and then the first and finished those two. I then went on to playing spyro and other “deeper” games. I’m 26 years old now and i still play video games. I’ve played a lot of great games but the Crash series will always be the first game i ever finished on my own.

Now we need Spyro.

i highly doubt we will ever see a spyro remastered that license has been riped to shreds and then crewed up into a little ball and riped up again

I grew up on Warped, I played it more than anything else as a kid and I LOVED it - but I never beat it. My parents didn't understand memory cards and so every time I hit the game over screen I had to start from the very beginning. I will _finally_ get to see the completion of a massive part of my childhood. I am very, very excited for this game.

When I got to actually use it, I think I screwed up like, half of the time lol. I use the directional buttons to play this game I find it much easier this way.. I feel like a child all over again playing this game always use to run home from school to play this game now I drive home from work to play it! Honestly will always be my favourite game franchise :)

ok so my mom played the crap out of wrath of cortex before i was born and when i was about 5 it was raining outside and i said "mommy, is there anything for me to do inside?" and she went and pulled the old ps2 out of a closet. so now im like "what's this?" and she told me the about how that was all she used to do before i came along and she pulled out the wrath of cortex case and said i could play it. BOOM wrath of cortex was the first game i ever played and boy did i love it! about a year later i asked if there were any more games like that and she said yes, but they were on an older console. so for my birthday that year i asked for a ps1. just so happens my uncle had one and we got crash 1 and 2 off ebay or something i dont quite remember but the point is i had them and i still loved them 😂 so when i saw the N. sane trilogy was happening i pre ordered it so fast 😂

As a 21 year old I spent a notable amount of my childhood watching my neighbor's brother play through these games over and over again. Therefore I couldn't be more excited to be able to play them myself finally.

The dude behind the counter told me that he only had a couple left, after RESTOCKING only a day or two earlier! It's absolutely ridiculous that the gaming retailers seemingly haven't stocked up on this game! Wtf did they think was going to happen? It's not like there wasn't any hype revolving around it prior to release.

Majority of customers are going digital (although considering the fact this game appeals mostly to older generations which would make sense to stock up on physical copies) so they probably figured a lot of people would just go to the console store/steam and get it there.

I use to play Crash back when the PlayStation 1 came out. I was 4 years old but even remembering about it makes me feel old. my mum use to play with me as well, but now I get to sit back and watch the youth go through the original struggle I did. lol

Glad they took the time to do this right and with such heart and respect. Having missed this when it was current they are a blast to play now, tho warning some sections are hard and controlling cracking insane :). Ty for the spotlight on this title.

I got the game today and I'm new to the games. I can say they are a lot of fun and I love how kooky it is. I really like it and can't wait to play more!

Well no. I don't think anybody would think that with Crash Boom Bang , Titans or Mind over Mutant.

I'm new to the series and I love this trilogy. Even for a young teen like me I still have fun trying to get all the gems and beating the clock to the end.

I think I enjoyed Crash 1 the most when playing through N-Sane - Could just be that it's the one I've played least, but I love how coherent the story feels as you move across the islands instead of the boring level selectors of 2/3. It was also a fun challenge (~5 hours for me to finish the Crystals) that felt more like I needed skill to get through rather than just abusing powerups or the wider levels in 2/3. I love them all (I've played 30 hours and got the trilogy 2 weeks ago on steam), just felt surprised at the comment in the video of Crash 1 holding up the worst ^^.

My cousin had Crash Bandicoot 3 and we played it once on a trip to see family. My parents eventually got me a Playstation along with Crash Bandicoot 3 and ever since, I have been a Sony loyal fan.

The 360 received Crash rights after Naughty Dog sold them. This trilogy was Naughty Dog and was a PS1 exclusive, so you will not find the remake on any Xbox system.

My childhood crashed

This game was my 1st Crash Bandicoot game so I guess you can call me a "newbie" or whatever but the games were very enjoyable. I liked how to games got easier as they went on to make a more enjoyable experience but even the 1st game which was very hard I found very enjoyable and once I beat it, it felt very accomplishing. I'm definitely buying the 4th game.

I’m now in part one, won’t finish. Too frustrating. The controls are not on spot, lots of trial and error, and an outdated gemeover takes the fun out for me. Hope pt 2 and 3 have aged better.

Jees I remember playing this like every weekend with my friends. Besides outdoors this was the best times of my childhood. Definitely bringing nostalgia back in every minute. Bought it and love it, it’s classic..

if they do they should add more maps, 17 is not enough. oh and make the bosses playable in adventure mode too. just replace whoever you're playing with with N. Tropy it works still and I just want to go through adventure mode with Pinstripe wildly firing his tommy gun into the air at every awards ceremony just like in the old country.

Yeah. Always liked it more than Mario Kart. Those shortcuts did need some skill to pull off. And there's no unfair blue shell. Instead, there's an electric ball that hits everyone ahead of the one who launches it.

I'm getting my dad this for Christmas because he LOVED the games when he was younger

I have been a crash fan since it came out. In fact, my PlayStation stopped working and I was sorely missing my Crash & Spyro, for our anniversary my man got me a ps1 & Ps2. Then I heard about the remaster and got ALL excited. Thank you for your post, I can't wait to dive in!

Not a lot of platformers that kids play these days. People who were old enough to play crash when it first came out had a lot of platformer games, or games with levels that were designed in a similar aspect. Today its all about FPS, or RTS games, specially for esports for the modern gamers. Obviously there are other genres but you can meet a lot of gamers who dont do RPGs but play a game like LoL or call of duty all day, list goes on from there.

NehathSnauzbart You must have never played an old school platformer then. Try getting 100% completion in Crash 1. It will make your testicles explode in anger, that game was brutal in difficulty.

I love the fact there're few secrets throw around that 105% completion. When I discovered that I can jump back the cliff when done escaping boulder, or secret warp point in snowy or water ruin map, my childhood mind blown.

I have been playing crash since me and my cousin were little kids, i cant wait to replay them again because i just have so many memories of the old ps2 crash games. he is by far my favorite video game character and i will forever be a huge fanboy

i love that you can play as coco in the first two after you beat the first boss.

I'd be playing this today if Royal Mail knew what fucking Day One Delivery meant.

I'm glad they brought this back. Crash was thrown into the mud and the muck, hopeless and left to die. But it's like he picked himself up, dusted himself off and ran back to N sanity beach and relived his good old days. I have been Crash's fanboy since I was a kid, Wrath of Cortex was my last game before he started to fade in my eyes. But now Crash is back "Hey plumber boy, mustache man, your worst nightmare HAS RETURNED."

I played crash and all the trilogies' on the original PS1 so excited that i brought the remastered crash recently and they have the same old fun music - good memories and great fun to play. Thanks for a great review

I can't wait to get my hands on this game I'm so nostalgic I remember I used to play with my brother on the PS2

I'm glad I still have my original PlayStation and the Crash Bandicoot Games. My favorite is Crash Racing.

Douglas Ferrell Junior It's just annoying that I can't play the originals on ps4, I've still got crash 2-3 and a lot of other games like spyro gateway to glimmer but I don't have a working ps2 controller. Got a working ps1 controller but it lacks the analogue stick.

Whoever was at Gamestop simply didn't care for the trilogy in general, I don't know why they chose him to review it in the first place. I respect his opinion and Crash isn't for everyone, but I could still play the shit out of Cortex Strikes Back and Warped (the first game has aged terribly and I believe that's objective, but I still love it for nostalgia's sake).

Thank you for this video! I grew up with a nitendo and always missed classic games like this on the playstations. So really happy that when i decided to pick up a ps4 this year this remaster came. Giving me something i missed in my childhood haha. Wasnt really sure if it was worth the price but after this video im just gonna get it! Now only need a spryo remaster as i got Ratchet and clank aswell. Im in a second childhood :D

grew up on the all the games in the n sane collection and I am loving it, girlfriend who never played is having a tougher time but still having a lot of fun

i played old crash bandicoot 2 for a very long time it was my childhood loved the game and still i play sometimes but on my psx emulator on pc still good memories either way i wanna get this game cause it looks awesome! nice content dude

I love that they kept old bugs and tricks such as slide-spin which makes you go super fast

Technically this is a Remake. They didn't polish the old assets, they made new ones entirely on a new engine with the 1996 game as a ref to look back at.

i barley remember being under the age of like 3 and id play crash on the GameCube and my mom loved the game and is the reason i bought the game, to relive old memories and almost started to cry seeing that i can play a game my mom loved today. makes me feel like im able to connect with her when shes no longer here anymore.

I remember me and my friend used to LOVE Crash Mind over mutan on the PS2. we played it all the time when we were about 6 years. and now im so happy as a 13 year old to play the N.Sane trilogy. its so much fun!

They need to remake all the best original ps1 games

Thank you for uploading this (i may be buying it a year later as im on the xbox but hey) all the points you have made in this video are completely true. I didnt grow up with the old crash games its just a tad before my time, but i did buy a ps3 just to play the original and compared to the original its pretty well remastered

I find the jumping change to be a pain in the ass but love the game. Used to play it on ps1 and played it on an emulator until this version came out

Rhiannon Gray There is no jumping change. The jumping is the same, it's just that the engine is now 60fps or more, and that makes Crash either fall faster or not go further as before

Just bought this game and it's so nostalgic to play it again from the late 90's when we would visit our father and new step mother!! Still hard and frustrating as hell, but fun 😁

I had the original games for PS1 and other than Spyro and Ape Escape it was all I played. Played 2 and 3 a lot more than I played 1. I agree with the bulk of what you said, I love the sharper picture and I love that they used pretty much the same music. I've already beat the games and npam going through trying to get it as close to 100% as I can, until the remastered Spyro games come out. Thanks for doing this video!

Crash Bandicoot: Tag Team Racing was my favorite game when I was little. Being 17, it really makes me happy that they remade the first 3

Man i loved team racing so much on my ps2 it was incredible.

Tagteam was my favorit title as a kid... Played it on ps2 amd psp... could never get enough

I grew up on Crash Bandicoot. We lived in downtown Flint and it was to dangerous to go outside so I would sit and play this game on my ps1. This game literally shaped me into the geek I am today. When I found out that they were remastering, I sold my xbox one and bought a ps4.

I’ve played them before, and have been replaying 2 and 3 consistently ever since. I’m SOO exited for it to come to the Switch tonight so I can play them on the go!

Think your spot on with the review I'm 27 and played these as a kid and it's a great blast from the past nice to see they didn't destroy my memory of this game and spot on with the load screens a bit of a ball ache but you get used to it .. Just crack open a new beer every load screen 😁

I've been playing since the beginning but some of the later games are my favorites honestly, like twinsanity and the wrath of cortex
