Craig Murray opens by referring to his speech he made at the union last night. He refers to what the first speaker, Laurence Kotlikoff, said in regard to the American Dream meaning that every generation would have a better standard of living than the last. He follows by highlighting that this idea is floored as it is based in consumerism and suggests that human happiness lies in owning a lot of stuff.
He goes on to say that the American Dream is based on infinite consumerism and an increasingly growing economy, however you cannot have infinite growth in a world where resources are finite. By perusing this dream America has been at the forefront of climate change and is a leader in its denial and hinders efforts to solve the problem on the international stage.
The pursuit of the American dream has lead to the near annihilation of the Native American people, which can be seen in its early years and is now being repeated in Israel by driving the Palestinians out of their rightful homeland, rounding them into camps and starving them to death.
Craig Murray tells of his time where he saw torture victims signing lists that demonised people they didn't even know as being member of Al Qaeda in an effort to stop being tortured. It was an injustice and cast an umbrella of hate over all people in the east making it easier for America to justify their actions in the so called 'War on Terror'.

IMHO. Islam, and by extention bulk of Muslims, is in such poor state that if Satan climbed out of Hell to offer his assistance to wage war on Jews and Christianity, Muslims would proclaim Stan as G*d send. The hate and anger in heart of Islam is that deep and that extreme.

George Carlin made one big mistake, the same as Bill Hicks, they got personal and it diminished their comedy, carlin especially was only funny to a certain type of american, if you want to see a real funny guy google in Lee Evans, now he is a funny man

Way to go for bringing up Native Americans.
Most people think life ends with death... therefore it is me me first. The 2nd concept is ..life goes beyond death.. a life of inner self. This brings balance and we share our pleasures and sorrows with our fellow mortals...

@@fionagregory8078 And you came about this information how? It seems an awful idea, especially when we've been informed by the Creator Himself that He has the power to give us life after death. You fall asleep (death) and immediately, as in sleep, you wake up to life everlasting or death eternal. I would double my efforts if I were in your doubting shoes.

The Socratic Method falls down on his Climate Alarmism. Misses the Global Greening side. And making regular people poorer trying to get energy from inefficient sources by criminal companies using tax payers subsidies. And the environmental damage from batteries and their manufacture and disposal and wind turbines is the real scandal and reason for alarm. Midwits in power lacking humility, unfortunately. Just because you’re right on one issue, doesn’t mean you’re an expert in all issues, especially complex ones.

@@MrEclecticity His anti American rhetoric is appalling. The American dream is based on the principle of you can achieve your full potential if you do what's necessary to maximize your potential. Yes the country from its being to today has done some bad things but he believes that we are the same people today. We are a great country with people from over a hundred countries living peacefully with naturalized american citizens. His statements regarding Israel were totally false. Israel has twice accepted the deal that the palestinians asked for and twice they backed out.

@@MrEclecticity The American dream is dead and the left killed it. We are headed for dark times ahead. I have been to communist and socialist countries and I see what's coming. Most Americans don't travel and if they do it's usually to nice places. The left believe they have a path to paradise but it always leads to violence and misery. Look at China because that's the model of what they want. It's coming over the next 10 years. A form of capitalism with total totalitarian control. Mark my words.

This guy completely misunderstood the American Dream. The American Dream is that anyone--no matter what color, religion, or social class has the opportunity to make their life and the life of their family better. Not by corruption or exploitation but through hard work and determination. That is what the American Dream is. And what does the war on terror have to do with it? Nothing. People should listen to the ones who actually know what the idea consists of...ya know, Americans. Not some drunken brit. And btw, I'm sure what we did in Iraq was wrong and that we haven't always been smart during the war on terror. But when was the last time his nation had 2,977 people murdered in cold blood by radical Islamists all in one day? Never.

So this is what they do at their University? Excuse me , but that is not the deff of "The American Dream" my dad came here from a Caribbean island and made something of him self . He came here with little money , and now he has amazing credit. This Looney won't even know an American dream if we gave it to him. He's compared Bush to Hilter, I'm not a Republican, but really ? just really ? . Also you bring religion into it with Jehovah's witness , I have family that are JW. I wish I was there , I would've told him off real quick.

His point was not to use intelligence obtained from torture. The JW example illustrated this point further. Not only is torture morally wrong, what information you get out of it is useless.
