Craig Morgan’s Song for His Son Is a Blessing and Curse

Музыка

#CraigMorgan admits he nearly fainted performing his song "The Father, My Son & the Holy Ghost" #Live on the #KellyClarkson Show.
It takes an extraordinary amount of strength to get through the song and for this reason he doesn't play it every night.
During this #Interview with Taste of Country Nights Evan Paul and Amber Morgan talks about the good and the bad of this song.

I saw Morgan play this live in concert and it hurt my heart hearing him sing this. It was a somber and powerful moment. I might not be Christian but the pain in the song surpasses all faiths.

Craig, Three years ago my Fiancée passed way from Cancer six months before our Wedding, my love for him was the first time I loved unconditionally. Four months later one of my daughters committed suicide. This song has helped me so much, dealing with the pain of loss, bringing me back to my knees in Prayer. All my many thanks to you and Jerry, and my love and Prayers

We lost our boy when he was 3 months old. 35 yrs. ago. He still walks with us every day in our hearts. Loved the Kelly performance, what will you have to finish. In 2000 we also lost our 23 yr. old daughter to cancer. That was it, we weren’t sure we could do it anymore, not another day! However my wife and I leaned into each other, and our faith. One day and it’s getting closer everyday, we will be together again. Thank you for your strength, and faith. I cried, but it was a thank you Lord cry. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Brings back a time when I was young in my life when I lost my best friend to a brain aneurysm. I could not understand my feelings and I was broke. But in that time I remember my mother holding me and I finally let my emotions poor out...I felt so much love and I knew the holy spirit was wrapped around me. That was the closest I 've ever been with GOD in my life. God Bless you Craig Morgan and Family...Your Son, brother, friend will be there to greet you in Heaven. I’m so very sorry for your loss, I know that pain in your chest feeling all to well, and 14 years after the death of my 15 year old daughter it still will knock me to my knees it hurts so bad. I only wish I had some of your faith, I lost mine so long ago and wouldn’t even know how to go about finding it again, I so want to believe I will see her again, but most days I’d rather just be done, I just want to be with my daughter. You wrote such a beautiful song, been crying since I heard it this morning. I miss her hugs and laughter, and “I love you mom” are words I haven’t heard in over 14 years.

I have heard your song yesterday the past two days. I’ve been playing country music every year for the last 51 years. Played backup for some that were great 50 years ago. My own son has walked out of my life years ago. I’ve lost contact with stepsons and grandsons, so I pour myself into my music here at a local fiddle house. It makes me feel so good performing for some even older than me. Thank you. From one Vet to another, my hugs and prayers go out to you, and welcome home Brother. Jerry Predmore

Thank you so very much Craig - You Are Indeed A Treasure!!

This song reminded me of how lucky I am as a Mom bc I recently almost lost my son in a fire... He's a firefighter who recently fell 10' thru a hole in the floor, landing on his head/face with his back flipping backwards (heel to head). For several minutes he couldn't breathe, move or signal for his fellow firefighters that he needed help. Fortunately, it didn't take long for them to figure it out and find him! Thank God, his helmet and air pack saved his neck from snapping --- I can't tell you how thankful to God I am! But this song actually reminded me of my grandson, Samuel, my daughter's son, who died at six months. He'd be turning 12 this year.... losing a child at any age is an unbearable loss. I know this song touches so many parents out there. I can't even imagine how hard this song is, and always will be, for Craig to sing because I don't know if I'll ever be able to listen to it without crying... 😭

Gregory came home with PTSD and a back and neck injury in 2009. Greg was broken spiritually, mentally and physically. He was a wonderful man who cared so much for others and wanted to help make positive changes in our world. He was killed here at home in our city of Prince George, BC, Canada. The hurt never goes away, but I have my faith in our dear Lord that my precious son is in great hands. Thank you again for this beautiful song. Gregory's proud momma.

I know without a doubt when you do the song it takes a lot to do it. I can imagine that it brings sad moments back. Jerry is in Heaven looking down upon you and his love will forever be with you. Faith is what we all need. Our faith helps us get through our darkest days. I lost a child and it is not easy. I often think of him. Loosing a child is hard on a parent. If we all stand in faith God will see us through. He will help guide us on a path of healing and restoration. He will give us strength when we need it. I wish you and your family the best. Hang in there be strong. Thank you for an amazing song that will help soo many people who are going through the loss of their loved ones. God Bless. 🙌🙏 Jerry Rest In Peace.

So sorry to hear about your son. I can't imagine. You are so faithful. It's so true God would never allow that but evil satan would. Your son is with Jesus and in the beauty of heaven.

Mr Morgan I posted on your Facebook page about our losing our son and what your song is to me your a better man than me when we lost our son Jake on March 13th 21 I was angry at God and I asked why then I asked for a sign that Jake was with him That day I came across this song again I saw it as a sign God telling me I'm not alone and that I will see Jake again.

I know I've said this on your song's video link, but thank you. You hear it alot, but thank you. Every year I'm never sure how long my mother's death will weigh in my head and push me down. I've been getting better and hearing that song helps alot. Just one more time I'll say it. Thank you

I seen the Kelly Clarkson show when Craig was on it and I could tell the hurt and emotions that he was feeling when he was singing. I did not lose a child but the emotion on his face reminded me of when my daddy passed. Thank u Craig for the song

Of the many God-given songs thru the ages, rest assured this is one of them. Isn't it just like God to give one person the words that will resonate with millions more? God knows our aches and pains and he knows what we need to help us heal. I haven't experienced that kind of loss, and for that I am eternally grateful. But there is no escaping the raw pain and anguish in this song. Hard to listen to and not feel like you've been punched in the chest. My hat is off to everyone in the entire world that has ever lost a child. To experience that and go on to live a meaningful life? That is the very definition of strength.

Not to sound cliche or like I idolize Craig more or anything like that, because no. I am a fan tho, have been literally as long as I can remember. But like I fully, 1000% believe Craig Morgan has been walking in God’s light his whole career. His more moving songs make me cry instantly. Even before his son died, he’s just always had something different than any other artist that was big while I was growing up. Even my grandma enjoyed his songs and she thought most “new music” was garbage lol... I couldn’t imagine the toll loosing a child has on someone, that’s something that *nobody* should have to go through.
