That was the great missed opportunity back in the 20teens when Matt Smith was leaving. Ferguson was finishing up with CBS and was obviously offering himself to return to Scotland with all the Who references and tributes on his talk show. Instead they cast his old punk bandmate Peter Capaldi. He was OK but Ferguson could have better continued the eccentric nature of the last three young Doctors...into an older character without making it so severe. Who interest wained worldwude with Capaldi, then down the toilet...same thing happened in the 80s with Colin Baker then the next incarnation was even less interesting. I wonder if BBC said NO because CF had lampooned the Royal Family so much, especially the once and future King.

High praise indeed! I wonder what Kermit would have thought of Sid. 😁
I will watch this over and over. Never gets old.
I'm almost 35 and been watching Doctor Who for many years..it has been on in the US for as long as I can remember..PBS on Sundays when I was a kid.
I miss Craig Ferguson!!!
"It's all about the triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism..."
JUST realized this was Orbital's version after ALL THESE YEARS of listening (and watching).
Am I the only one that can see that Craig looks like Peter Capaldi?

Capaldi was the singer in a punk band that Craig played drums for.

+Henry Renkert, Peter Capaldi looks like an older David Tennant, as well. Must be a common Scotsman look, not to say any of those men are common! :)
Miss our dear Craigyferg!
Just started watching the classic Who's on Netflix and the theme song really is badass!
im so glad people are still finding this even now. be sure to share it with your friends.

D'aww. Matt's face at the end after he said his line was like, "Am I doin' it right?"
I love Craig's face when Matt Smith aka the 11th doctor comes out.

originally they didn't get the rights to use the Doctor Who theme song but they did later so they used it as the intro for Alex (who plays River song).
Time for the BBC to rid itself of Jodie and make Craig Ferguson its new Doctor.......
I miss Craig on late night tv so much!
Awww, Matt. "Absolutely!" and he just smiles excitedly at the camera with his fists up.

This is brilliant! It cracks me up!
But only those few seconds and one world have been enough...I'm so going to miss his giggly, positiv and funny character. He just makes me feel happy when I see him :)
He's a doctor.....but he's not really a doctor. Like Dr. Phil.....but AWESOME! LOL
You never saw this on Letterman, that's for sure.
Your passion is infectious, Craig.
I can't stop watching this!
