That was a good video, I have an older 1/2 HP unit, finally figured out the unit causing it to go too far up and down, figured out how to adjust that before your video but it's always nice to see stuff taken apart. I greased up the chain with some motor oil and the sprocket on top and hit it with WD40. Managed to overheat the motor messing with it but the thermostat works and after cooling it down working great again. The new ones are crazy money so screw that noise.

Tip when installing a NEW unit lube bearings they come dry, only designed for so many cycles. Also, on old unit with bad bearings and motor internally rubbing, most units even this one, you can turn motor 180 degrees which motor will then work. Bearing will wear on lower portion from gravity, when rotating it will allow motor to work for a while.

You must have a heavy door as I have had 16 foot door that doesn't require 3/4. It is 18R insulated. Quite difference between 3/4 and 1/2 price point wise. Allot would have to do with your counter system which should be correct according to your horse power. Good info.

We have the same unit. Sometimes you have to hold the button on the wall until it is completely closed to make it close. When using the remotes, sometimes they will close the door but most of the time they won't. It will start to close but stop quickly and the lights on the unit blink a few times and then nothing happens.

Have you checked the 2 sensors? Usually it’s a simple alignment issue, as mine does this all the time and gets pumped. There if you look at the sensors, there should always be an orange light. If you play with the sensors, that light will turn green once they are lined up. If that doesn’t fix the issue, Clint how many times the orange light, located on the side of your garage door motor blinks when you attempt to close it. It’ll blink in between 1-4 times. You can then good whether there’s a short, an alignment issue etc. good luck

Try disconnecting the wires to the multi function control on the wall with the light switch button. Unplug the garage door opener first. If the light no longer stays on, replace the control, if it still remains on, then the logic board is likely faulty. Thanks for watching!

Great video, however, in my case the entire unit acts like there is no power. The light on the wall switch is out, but the only life are the lights on the door sensors. I get no response from either remote. So, as a last resort, I gave the unit a nice punch to the lower part of the unit between the white light covers. Suddenly, the light came on , the light on the door switch came on and now the door operates normal. A few minutes later all is dead again until I hit the lower flat side of the unit. Any ideas what could be loose? My next step is to remove the covers and check for a loose connection. Thanks again for a great video.

Thank you for your help. I am a single female and wanted to try keep from buying a whole new door system from a local dealer. $30.15 with taxes and shipping included and I saved over $500. It's hard being a female in this world. Thank you sir and all the other fine men on youtube helping us single ladies who can't find a good man out there, those who have all been taken. For us ladies, do your homework and research, research and research and don't be ripped off by these online supply houses if your parts don't work. Some of them are junk and just been sitting around for years deteriorating. As for the door opener companies, they want to make a profit and that's understandable but they didn't even suggest looking at it to replace parts because my Craftsman garage door opener system is older than most. I'm thankful for youtube and the channels that have taught me how to do home maintenance as well as safely on my own. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
