    Great video! I have this bandaw. You don't actually need to remove the four bolts to get the table off. Just remove the one nut on the trunnion and you can remove the table and trunnion together. Just remember how the trunnion washer, handle, spacer, and nut go on that single bolt and you're good! Much easier, in my opinion.

    Dude I don't even have this saw(craftsman 10in band) but this was by far the best bandsaw video yet. Almost want to send one of my restos your way just to see the content . Solid work bro

    Thank you! I wish I had done one on the 113 tablesaw and the jointer. I inherited a bunch of my larger tools from my grandpa, and they all needed some tune up. I should have some more content coming soon, but they're mostly 3D printing focused. I'm trying to brainstorm some ideas for making some 3D printed jigs for woodworking, too, which I think would be pretty sweet.

    I wonder if someone here, in the comment section, can tell me how to read the date code on my saw? I would like to know what year it was made.

    Great video! I have this same bandsaw. Can you give me a link to where you bought your guides blocks and blades? Also, do you use a sacrificial fence for tall(er) stock? What do you use?

    Guide blocks: amzn.to/44vLKDl Urethane tires: amzn.to/44uvnHg The fence I use, I just made out of plywood. Works well, but not the easiest to set up and get square. I need to come up with something different, but too many projects. 😅

    Thsnks Brandon. This is helpful as I have this same bandsaw (25 yrs old). I do have a question about removing the wheels to make installing urethane tires easier. Can you give me any hints as to what the parts are that need to come off and the best way to do that? Thanks, Liz

    I've never had the wheel all the way off, but it looks like the wheels are held on by a lock ring, so you'd need a set of lock ring pliers to remove them. You can get the pliers from an auto parts store or online. I wouldn't recommend buying the cheapest set of pliers as the tabs on the pliers like to break. I'm not sure if they're pressed on, I don't think they are, but if they are, a pulley puller from the auto parts store will pull the wheel. They have it as a rental tool.

    Hi, thank you for this great video. I have this same bandsaw and need to replace the capacitor but I have no idea where it is. Ive looked everywhere for it so it must be inside the motor but want to confirm before I start tearing into it. I have no idea what Im doing here

    I haven't had to do this, but it would be in the motor housing. Does it start without the belt on?

    @@ursulap23 That'll help diagnose if it's an isolated motor issue. I think they put several different motors on these, some have caps, some don't. Mine has really bad starting torque. If anything is hanging up, the blade won't turn.

    I believe I have the same bandsaw. Craftsman 12 inch model number 113.243310. I need to replace the tires on the wheels but I don’t know what size to buy? What size tires did you use? this is my first bandsaw, so I am a newbie.

    They are 12" x 7/8" urethane tires from Amazon. They are a total pain in the arse to get back on, be warned.

    @@HonestBrothersYou really wanna party? I mean like really really wanna party? Then get yourself the craftsman tilt head band saw and try putting a new tire on the bottom of that. I did that today. I havent fully recovered yet.

    How well does that particular bandsaw work for resawing thicker stock?

  • @HonestBrothers

    @HonestBrothers

    Жыл бұрын

    Honestly, I haven't tried thicker stock yet. I'm in the middle of 3-4 projects right now, one of them being inlay banding I'm going to put into a shadow box for my wife, so I needed the resaw blade on it for that. There was a LOT of blade drift with the blade that was on it, but also the saw needed the tune up. How thick are you talking? I have a branch that has been sitting in my back yard from a lightning strike that I can try to run through it.

    I've seen several of these types of bandsaws for sale and was thinking about getting one. Would it work for 3/4" or 1" stock?

  • @HonestBrothers

    @HonestBrothers

    Жыл бұрын

    @@moorebid5380 With a proper fence, I think you can. I just tested a piece of white oak and got a little bit of blade drift while trying to cut a piece that was 1/16" wide. I plan on upgrading eventually. Bearings instead of guide blocks would help a lot. The motor is a little under powered to cut anything super hard. It's a good starter bandsaw, especially considering you can get them for next to nothing.

  • @homerhomer3618
    @homerhomer3618 Жыл бұрын

    Nice. However... Any time you change the blade or perform an adjustment, make sure the on/off switch is in the fully off position; remove the safety key; and unplug. Tool (blade) change and adjustment for and power tool should be done with power off and unplugged. That is, no energy potential. Safety first.

  • @HonestBrothers

    You're 100% correct. I'll have to make sure to include unplugging the motor next time. LOTO.

    @@colininscore1286 My original comment was 8 month ago. you wrote: "... easier to make adjustments while it (the power tool) is running." depending on what you are adjusting or replacing, power should be "off." Depending on what is being 'adjusted' you can "observe" what requires adjustment, turn off the tool, make the adjustment, and repeat. "easier... " does not mean "safest."
