Crafting Superhero Suits for Power Rangers: Weta Workshop

Фильм және анимация

On the anniversary of Power Rangers, we take a look back at the hugely challenging, incredibly rewarding, process of developing the Rangers' suits' intergalactic armour.
With an embedded texture, 'glowing' veins & and a technically advanced Lycra underlayer, these suits were awesome fun to help design and create - and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Power Rangers' crew on set in Vancouver!

I really love it how when they morph, their armor is like organic. Like its their skin is switched inside out with their armor which is badass. "They're not like a suit you put on". I love that

a suit with hidden seams and rigging, multi-layered hard components, and is still flexible enough to perform martial arts moves in...i don't think anyone really appreciates what a difficult task that is! to be honest with how organic they were, i thought the suits were entirely CGI, but knowing they're done practically is almost mindblowing!

nuzilloyd You'd be very surprised how real the suit was for Iron Man 1, they never really mentioned it again for the other films but I remember hearing the the Ironman MK2 or 3 suit was like 120 layers all in all and was a real suit he wore in scenes all like glued d9wn plastic and it took a couple of hours to put on. I wish they stuck with it because the actual iron man suit in IM1 looks so real in some scenes now it looks very fake or CGI, mainly the colours of the suit and reflections look weird. But yeah hahaha ✌

Well since it's discontinued we may never know. But Rita's suit is the only thing that we can look at and agree to. I really wish that they could have given him another chance to write and make a second movie. But the fact that Rita was the green ranger was absolutely amazing and how Zordon was the red ranger made absolute sense. The suits of the rangers were all good and we're amazing how they looked.

I honestly loved this movie. Just the built up to the suites was so fuckin epic and fulfilling. I know many were mad that they didn’t get to see much of the suites but honestly the movie was great. The cast was on point and they deserved a sequel!!

You guys put a lot of great work on to these costumess, it just sucks that they didn't have much screen time as they should have. If they do a sequel I hope you guys can redesign the helmets because I don't like the helmet design. And I hope that the veins actually would be different colors (match color to each ranger). But a lot of work to it so kudos to you

Best. Ranger suits. Ever. If they made a green ranger for this timeline, you could EASILY just add Tommy's original design, Chest Sheild and gold accents and they would fit perfectly with these designs.
