    The one thing I want in TESVI is a feature that makes followers more friendly towards you the longer you adventure with them. At maybe 0-10 hours they would still say the default phrase 'ready to go' or 'whenever you're ready', but after 30 or 40 hours they could say something like 'welcome back old friend'. Idk, maybe it's a bad idea but I think it would add to the games immersion.

    Sean Freeman i agree, that could also add more to having relationships with npcs, instead of just doing a favor or quest for them so you just marry them, you can instead travel with them, bond and help each other on a somewhat larger scale.

  • @thomasgass1053

    @thomasgass1053

    Yes I agree. I personally would love to see a dumbed down fallout 4 armor and weapon customization system, and not just upgrades, customizing looks, like as you said, trophies, engravings, etc, and for weapons the same thing but you could say, put a nicer handle on a weapon and make it take less stamina to power attack, or if say you have a wooden club, put a metal head on it, and maybe studs or spikes. You could also do stuf to armor, I'd love to see you be able to take leather armor and put steel plate underneath the leather, held in by studs, because studded leather would not work, don't add it it makes no sense! Anyway, the leather plate armor would have slightly lower defence than normal plate armor, and maybe, what if you have a metal of some sort helm, and a full face plate to it, and there'd be like 5 face plate choices, and maybe add an imperial style Mohawk (I can't remember what there called so that'll do) and again, 5 choices. I'm out of space so new comment!

  • @thomasgass1053

    @thomasgass1053

    Or under armor, like being able to put a male coif under your helm, or the torso area equivalent (can't remember the name of that). A nother thing that'd be cool is if the ornaments, engravings, etc, thing happens, then maybe if you have carving tools on hand, you could carve a skull to have a shoulder shaped indent thing, and attach it to your shoulder armor

  • @thomasgass1053

    @thomasgass1053

    8 жыл бұрын

    I accidentally sent that early, oh well. Moving on. You could do it the same for say, a rather large skull, and carve out the insides and boom, awesome helm, and you could carve in markings or... Cool stuff, idk and they would have options, and maybe even thing where you design a marking/engraving, and manually carve it in. I could go on for longer but I think you get the idea.

    Oh and what about carving, both manually and choices, a well carving for your house, and a fallout 4 style settlement menu, so you can decorate a house, and maybe find a cave and clear it of bandits, then add crates and chairs and tables and a fire, and decorate with furnishings, and lanterns, etc, and make your own bandit base. And I'll stop now

    Not necessarily since some recipes only make use of 1 or 2 effects while every ingredient has 4 effects so you should only really learn the effects that are relevant to that recipe and really once you make that potion you do learn them .

    I always thought there should've been more of an incentive getting your skills back to 100 after Legendary. Like for instance with Smithing after you get back to 100 you will get a quest from one of the Blacksmiths and when completing this quest you can make any armor style with any material you want. For example you can use Ebony Ingots and a Daedric Heart to make Daedric Armor but with the steel design...Imaging how beautiful Steel armor would be with the Ebony Armor materials. You could take Dragon Scales and make Dragon Scale armor with the Leather armor design. Now take that concept and add it to every skill...that way you get the player has more of an incentive getting their skills back to 100 after Legendary. But that's just me. I love these series of videos, and hope there's more.

    A good compromise for the alchemy problem would be to combine oblivion and skyrim. You can use portable equipment but you're potions aren't going to be as strong or you can only use a portion of the ingredient effects. On the other hand you can find and use regular alchemy tables and it would allow you to do everything.

    Tinks Christian What i meant by that was say if a unique item is a special colour. Like Chillrend is a blue glass sword, well if you can then craft blue glass swords it will lose it's unique look. This could be combated by giving unique weapons unique skins and not just unique colour.

    That's a non issue. Elder Scrolls VI is presumably a single player game, no one else is ever going to see how you color your armor unless of course you upload it to youtube or something. If someone wants to have polka dots or bright pink armor in their single player game, let them knock themselves out, doesn't affect anyone else. In my opinion, coloring armor should work very similar to the Witcher 3 armor Dye system, wherein you had to find the ingredients to craft the dye and then apply it to each piece of armor. It adds more "goal's" to the game, and would be better than just an infinite free dying system. Though overall i'm somewhat doubtful it could be easily implemented into a game engine like the creation kit.

    Maybe you could craft Daedric stuff only in a special forge, and maybe for the weapon styles maybe each style could have its own small benefit like imperial style could drop more money on people you kill, dark elv style makes fire enchantment a bit better, argonian swings faster underwater

  • @nicholasserfontein9712

    @nicholasserfontein9712

    8 жыл бұрын

    I think that sounds great, each style is favoured by a race for some reason, so make each style fit that race. The dark elf one was cool, the argonian one sounds good as long as there is underwater combat (i don't know if that would happen). I'd say make the bonuses from particular styles small, so that people don't feel it's massively important, which would restrict them. I'd say make the benefits of any particular style mostly useful to every type of character. Because if you are an assasin and you want to have this particular style, but it makes enemy's run away, that's bad cause that's going to alert their buddies. So there is some balancing and care that needs to go into choosing buffs. wow that was long :D great idea btw

    Tbh I don't think Bethesda should've patched the "glitch" where you could spam iron daggers to increase smithing. I still spammed iron daggers even after they nerfed your ability to do so, and it was really the only feasible way to get yourself to a point where you are half decent at smithing.

    Try going to the orc strong hold near markarth named Dushnikh yal, step 1. become blood kin step 2. Get the orc training on the dummy to be you follower, his name is Ghorbash the iron hand step 3. go to the blacksmith area and right in front of the counter under the hut on the ground is an invisible chest, it's the black smith's inventory chest, if you get Ghorbash to be your follower you can take EVERYTHING from the chest without it being seen as stealing even if it's labeled in red text it still isn't stealing you'll find a good amount of iron ingots and about 500+ gold, after you take them save your game and attack the black smith to reset her inventory. Then just reload and loot the chest again and again until you have the amount of ingot you want and craft a tons of nails, iron fittings and hinges..

    Exactly, like, under which circumstances are you gonna legitimately craft enough armour to even get close to levelling up? Armour has no durability, so once you craft yourself some iron, you're never gonna need to return to the forge. Not until you want some more powerful armour, but then you're twenty levels away from that perk, having only gained half a fucking level when crafting your iron armour.

Or example Oak wood would make a bower with a slower fire rate, but higher damage than a pine wood bow, which would fire faster but do less damage. Camelworks I never used alchemy because it was out of the way and took up to much weight; It also has less usefulness because the quantity of potions you can find and magic that will have the same effects. This is something that should be looked in to. I also don't see the problem with being able to craft really strong weapons armor if the resources are as rare as unique items you can find.

    i never really touched alchemy in skyrim except to do the godly item glitch. Besides that i didn't feel the need to carry tons of "resist_____" potions that would take up carry weight, break the flow of gameplay to drink and were ultimately unnecessary same goes for poisons im not going to stop combat and go through my inventory to select a poison that only lasts one hit. In the elderscrolls 6 make poisons last longer than one hit and add some throw able grenade like potions to spice things up and add incentive to spec into alchemy, imagine cool explosive or poison gas grenades. Also i feel like is a lore plothole in that you need to recharge weapon enchantments but not apparel enchantments further more i found the whole idea of recharging weapons with soul gems to be rather tedious and annoying especially if you had a weapon the would lose charge very quickly. I think this can be fixed by adding a recharging enchantment bar that would slowly fill over time. I also disagree with you armor coloring mentality the more customize able the better but i do agree that unique artifacts should be limited in this area besides that i agree with everything else

    Unique items should have a unique design, be more ornate, have a small aura or glow, be slightly stronger than the strongest craftable item, have unique and precious enchantments. We don't need nerfs in anything. We just need better unique items. About recharging weapons, we need a rework in this matter. It's boring to have to recharge the weapons, but I also understand that "charges x damage" equation. A good idea would be to have to choose "time of effect x strength of the effect".

    I don't really get why people here and there want to demand caps. It isn't as though you as a player cannot personally decide to prohibit yourself from using an exploit. Demanding someone else do it for you doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like you want Bethesda to treat you like a child.

  • @Camelworks

    +cinnireseisri Of course people can't prohibit themselves. That is why people drink and smoke and take drugs and do things because they just can't help it, even if they don't want to. Also someone who is trying to prohibit themselves doesn't know where to draw a line between using the mechanics as intended, and abusing the system, and either ends up not using the system at all or ends up abusing it. It is a giant grey area that needs to be removed.

    Camelworks I respect your right to your own opinion. I also, have enjoyed your videos overall. That being said...you're really going to compare substance abuse to addictive chemicals to self-restraint on a video game? You do realize how preposterous that is, right? As if the scenario mentioned ruins lives and causes chemical imbalances in the brain that one may never recover from. Ridiculous hyperbole. Who cares if someone wants to go bananas with a game mechanic loophole? Why do YOU care? What gives you the moral right to be the game police on a hobby? Toggling on 'god mode' on Skyrim should be outlawed, and punishable by death. One of the reasons of what makes Bethesda games enjoyable is the overall freedom. What can pretty much do whatever you want. Play the game however you want. Telling other people how they should play a game in their own homes is about as invasive as it is absurd, not to mention authoritarian. It would be like demanding that Bethesda incorporate an automatic save game eraser when someone dies in the game. "Because that is how it is supposed to be played". Yet, this is only your opinion. One that you can easily regulate yourself into performing without affecting others whom have a viewpoint different than your own that may degrade the enjoyment of someone else who would then have no choice. That, frankly, is bullshit. I respect others right to play a game with greater freedom to chose whatever style suits them. If you want to make an OP character and run amok - go nuts. I put restrictions on myself all the time how *I want to play the game*. Yet, I demand nothing that would force others to play how I do. You want to force others to do something, and you shouldn't. You lose absolutely nothing by other people having a different opinion on this matter. Forcing consumers to have less choices is counter productive, not just from a gaming perspective but also from business one as well. Look at the most successful mods. Having choices via the MCM menu expands the consumer base and really is what makes Skyrim shine. Perhaps you should think of lobbying for having more game OPTIONS such as to toggle on/off crafting restrictions instead of demanding a 'one size fits all' approach? I think that would be better. A scenario where everyone gets what they want.

    cinnireseisri this is my thing. Idk why elder scrolls fans are all too silly to just play the damn game the way it was intended. Stop crying about something that you have to attempt to do it's not like someone is holding a gun to their head saying make an op spell or op weapon otherwise you die. Some of these guys are like that shit head classmate that ruins something for the whole class simply because he's too stupid to handle equipment correctly. Elder Scrolls isn't even an online game! It's not like it's ruining pvp for straight edge players it's literally you people have no self control because some are too incompetent.

    Eric Barnett II idk why you care how someone else plays A GAME. Your life that empty and pathetic you want to police even the most trivial things? That's pretty sad, Eric. You don't hear me complaining about how other people play a game. I don't even play it using the exploits, but you know...if someone else does...who...fucking...cares? What? You going to complain about if they play it with mods too? Get a life man, seriously.

    cinnireseisri I think you have me confused. What I was ranting about was people who want the developers to change the game around so that you can't do op things with some effort. That's a goal for some people in single player rpg's: to become completely overpowered and one shot everything. I was complaining about the people who don't want to do this because it isn't their playstyle but since it CAN be done they act as if they're being forced to and do it anyway. That's very ignorant to me. I'm all about freedom. Players should be able to do what their heart pleases if giving a fair trade of time and effort. Players who lack self control should re-evaluate themselves and wonder why the Hell they can't resist exploiting the game if they DON'T want to.

    I know very few people who actually bother with Alchemy, and it’s precisely its complexity that acts as a barrier. Yes, you can make some wild potions and poisons. But there’s so many different ingredients, and you have to learn their effects, and because there’s so much variety, you can quickly turn your inventory menu into a nightmare. Heck, while leveling the skill, you’ll create potions that don’t stack, because the numbers are slightly different even with the same ingredients. In this one area, I recommend streamlining, or even completely overhauling the system. If you want to keep the same extreme amount of ingredients, I’d recommend needing to break them down into Powders, Solutions, and Concentrates first (with Mortar, Alembic, and Calcinator, respectively). Then, recipes are drawn from this simpler group of materials. I’d also suggest milestone “quests” as you level up, requiring you to find unique ingredients to make one-time potions with permanent effects or buffs. Rewards for leveling up Alchemy.

    *Thoughts on Alchemy* You shouldn't be able to use all effects in alchemy for the start. Also, they need to work on making the value of ingredients more balanced to what the potions cost. I can tell they didn't do this well because the most basic ingredients in skyrim (wheat and blisterwort) makes a health potion and the ingredients by themselves are only slightly less valuable then the potion. Also way less ingredients should be found and when they are found they should be found together.(Skyrim has blue red yellow and purple mountain flowers instead of finding them the talking 3 steps to find another then going to the other side of the road to find another and repeating the to you get about 20 ingredients in 10 seconds you should just go of the the side and find 2 or 3 rows of flowers lined up. )

    ***** I like this idea, but bout the value of the potions relative to ingredients, in the specific case you gave, that makes sense, considering that minor healing potions can be found almost anywhere, they're incredibly common, and also, any half-wit can mix blisterwort and wheat to get a healing potion.

    One huge thing I've been missing in all TES games are lore specific crafting and items. Example, through the Green Pact, all Bosmer gear should be lacking wood or vegetable components, making use of bones, tusks/teeth, gems, and metals instead. Imagine a sapphire dagger with a dragon tooth handle.

    Spell Crafting needs to make a return but it also needs to evolve. Tyranny did an amazing job with their Spell Crafting system. It has restrictions but at the same time diversity and flexibility. Their 3 component system are well thought out: 1. Core - basically element type, they had 11 schools of magic - Fire(Fire DPS and DoT), Frost(Frost DPS and Slow + Freeze), Lightning(Lightning DPS and Stuns), Stone(Earth DPS & Petrify), Vigor(i.e. Buffs), Atrophy(i.e. Debuffs & Afflictions), Illusion(i.e. Hard Crowd Control & Buffs - Daze, Stun, Knock Down/Prone, Blind, Confuse, +Evasion), Life(i.e. Restoration/Heal), Force(i.e. Soft Crowd Control & Buffs - Telekinesis, Push, Interrupt, Dazed, +Speed), Emotions(i.e. Special Crowd Control - Fear, Sleep, Taunt, Berserk, Fatigue) & Terratus(i.e. Vampiric element). They also had Arcane but its NPC only, special element that requires special resistances. 2. Expression - essentially what form and delivery the spell has, i.e. Touch, Ranged, Point Blank AoE, Ranged AoE, AoE Aura/Domain, Self Buff, Cone, Channeled, Random AoE, Guard Buff etc. These expressions are themselves unique and exclusive, a lightning spell does not function as dmg spell in all of its forms, they all work differently. For example; 'Touch' Lightning spell: 20 dmg / 1m range / Single Target / Push back target by 4m 'Ranged' Lightning spell: 15 dmg / 10m range / Single target / Stuns the target for 10 seconds 'Ranged AoE' Lightning spell: 10dmg / 8m range / 1m radius AoE / Stuns targets for 2 seconds / Reduce Lightning Resistance by 40% for 10 seconds 'Self Buff' Lightning spell: Adds 20% Lightning dmg to weapon attacks / 360 seconds duration 'AoE Aura/Domain' Lightning spell: +50% Lightning resistance to self and all allies / 180 seconds duration 'Guard Buff' Lightning spell: Forms cloak of Lightning on target that deals 10 Lightning dmg to melee attackers / 180 seconds duration 3. Accent - Enhancements and Augmentations. +Range, +Dmg, +Duration, +Radius, +Accuracy, -Cooldown/Cost, Adds Special Effects(Adds Fire/Frost dmg, Bleeding dmg, Adds Shield Bubble, Adds Random Buffs & Debuffs or CC, Reflect Dmg, Adds Penetration, Additional Projectiles) etc. Absolutely tons of combinations and customization but also balanced by cooldown, lore level(complicated and fully enhanced spells require more lore level to equip), spell slots(can be increased by talents/perks) & combination restrictions(Lightning spells have stun effect so they cannot use Accents that invoke another CC or you cannot stack multiple Accents, balancing reasons otherwise you can make 1 spell to rule them all). Similarly these restrictions can be tweak & translated into TES's system. We can have magicka cost, combination restrictions and skill levels of the different schools of magic to be the limiter instead, oh and also Accuracy mechanic can be replaced with Morrowind's Spell Failure mechanic.

    To start out, I'd like to say I agree with a lot of your ideas. I think that more depth and variety can only add to the experience of an Elder Scrolls game, *however*. Limiting what the player can do (even through exploits) will not make the game more fun, only more limited, which I do not want. 2:42 So, first, you comments on the "Enchant to Alchemy " exploit, leave it. Some people love to do these things, why take the enjoyment away? I for one, never used it, and probably never will. But knowing that you can do it is pretty cool. Plus, capping (or god forbid, getting rid of that whole system) are *not* by any stretch of the imagination "good" solutions, as while the exploit didn't effect those who didn't go looking for it, this would effect anyone who enjoys to enchant their own items, and why punish them for the sake of getting rid of any exploit that only effects *the people that use it*? This is a single player game after all. 11:11 There is a simple solution to that, make it so that you can "repair" the artifacts once you get to a certain smithing level. It makes sense, right? Most of these artifacts have been sitting around gathering dust for hundreds, sometimes even thousands of years, so why wouldn't they need a bit of repairing to sharpen their edges? Or strengthen their plates? Of course, this should be able to be done multiple times, so that you can keep the artifact as long as you want to as long as your smithing continues to go up. But if you don't smith, you could just recruit a smith to repair it for you. Past repairing, it should probably have a system where you can improve the weapon past its repaired state, should your smithing be high enough. Also, if you can make the ultimate spell yourself, why not the ultimate equipment? Well, as for everything else, I pretty much agree. You have really good ideas and I would love to be able to customize my armor down to the color. Reminds me of Fable, which I think TES should take a couple notes from as far as equipping and customizing clothing and armor goes.

  • @nicholasserfontein9712

    I like that idea of being able to 'repair' artifacts. I'd expand on that for enchanting maybe, perhaps if you are really high level you can 'awaken' the ancient item to unlock it's full power (or some new quirk to it). I'd like artifacts to just be really unique. I think Bethesda gets worried that if they are too powerful the players will be sad that their smithing becomes obsolete. But you just make it part of smithing or enchanting (plus an extra side quest) to 'unlock' the true powers of these weapons. Or the weapons/ artifacts are as powerful as the bearer, so as you become closer to the gods that made them, they become more godlike in power. I also agree that you should be able to make equipment that is pretty much as good as daedric artifacts. But only if you undertake special secret methods to do so. Like journeying to a plane of oblivion to make it there, in the presence of so much magical power. Just making it feel more special. Like dipping your ebony and daedra heart concoction into a lake of lava in a plane of oblivion or something like that.

For spell crafting, enchanting, and alchemy what if you could get a conjuration spell to summon these tables so that you can craft items out in the wilderness without having to go to the nearest town? Maybe that is a bit more for magic, but it would be useful. Also, just have a cap on the increase in skills through enchanting, spell crafting, and alchemy. I am sick of things just getting removed in the series rather than reworked.

    *Sorry for a long post but I had to mull it over and I can't make vids* Alchemy: to have both you could have it like in the wild when you are using it the potions won't be as strong or have as many effects than one made at a Alchemy table Spellcrafting: bring it back let us make a coldfire atranach or allowing us to add alchemical ingredients so someone could give a fire atranach a healing potion turing it into a healing naught instead of a damage one ect. Enchanting: Personally I liked a lot of what ESO introduced on all formats of crafting so I'd like to see runes for us to use for lower lv enchanting then as we lv that field we move on to raw soul power for more complex enchanting. Lessen the drop rates of soul gems/ remove petty or only drop full gems (still working on it.) have a special forge to produce rare enchantments with a scaled requirement in both smithing and enchanting to use that'd be pretty cool, eg for a buff undead enchant you have to get a sword blessed by the church of wherever (or when you pray at a shrine all say turn undead or sun damage enchants will be restored) Smithing: revert skill name back to armourer or to forger or whatever but include things like Clothing Woodworking and Blacksmithing (why I still play eso is because I love to craft gear) debuff regular crafting stations but when you have a high enough skill in say Woodwork and enchant you can make a SET item (seducer set anyone ;) ) merge some of the crafting together bring back or introduce Motifs I loved that rather then grind to X in a trade spend point then bam new style. eg mid point in companions storyline the forge could be used to make dragur gear while is wasn't that good (depending on lv of course) it was neat to go to a spot or do a certain quest to make a new item Colouring crafted gear: make colours based on quality eg lengendary gear will have say gold trimmings added to shoulder piece whilst you can still change the plated part at will or alchemy might allow you to add colours Legendary/Aedric/Daedric Artefacts: all have custom skin a unlearnable enchantment and instead of an lv version its only obtain by doing a few quests for said deity or by reading X amounts of books related to said questline then you get a sword that has a power ranking that can't be obtain through crafting the enchantment is really powerful, can't be learned or if it's a learnable one it has unlimited uses

    I got a lot for you, so stick with me. I love smithing, and the first play through was fun, but it's so monotonous... There is a war going on, and instead of you getting contracts from the army, you buy up all the ore you can and smith a ton of useless stuff worth less than the materials. Say 10K iron daggers. There should be a contract systems (say, on a board like in W3) of radial quests that require you to smith x items or improve ys sword for profit. Upon completion you earn bonus exp and gold, a bit like in ESO. They can refresh once a day for tool repair and weapon improvements, once a week for filling local orders like guard posts, and once a month for arming troops. "XXXX looking for smith to repair tools. Xxx looking for competent smith to forge under the banner of the legion, great reward." (This could also change faction standings) There can be quests to restore a family heirloom or craft a unique weapon with a hyper rare material, better than that ONE quest in skyrim from dawnguard. It would be far more rewarding to do the quests, but not mandatory, and you could make unique materials to forge epic weapons like Aedric steel to forge one weapon out of, or Malacath's blood to imbue one piece of cloth with, but you can only use it if you are a master smith. But you could still take them to a place with a master smith like the Sky forge (which should add a base modifier to equipment, and so should the moon forge have) and receive a slightly lesser piece of equipment, but still really good. And for the love of Zenithar bring back weapon degradation! It only makes sense that a well forged sword can only split so many skulls, or a helmet can only take so many dents before both get destroyed... Unless you take care of them! Who would pay full price for a helmet a bandit wore and never polished... Mystery metal is a bad idea, because you simply don't know what kind it is and the proper way to handle it, but I do think that some precious objects should be salvageable. (And perhaps you could recycle armours and weapons as their quality is easily discovered.) in addition, items should reflect their weight more accurately in smithing. How did I make a 30lb sword out of 5lbs of ingots? Make exotic materials weigh more, or the ingots smaller. Also, 20-25 iron ingots makes more sense to make a breastplate out of, as it you'll weigh roughly that, and it is realistic. Plus it adds less monotony if you increase the exp gain. If more slots are added, like legs, pauldrons, etc, more material variety could be used aesthetically. Perhaps better materials could give items certain advantages, but the rigid system should probably go. Also, my Kajiti smith would NEVER make things like an Orc, so why does material dictate style? Spell crafting... Yes! It was incredibly well balanced in Oblivion as you could almost always buy a better spell unless you were already a master and had tons of gold. Perhaps another use for soul gems. Add more enchantments and multiple effects with lessening quality. Alchemist's pouch/bundle, a heavy bag with only the essentials, reusable but has durability based on how many potions you make with it, and it produces a lesser effect, as you lack certain equipment. Now I might have to make a video series outlining what I want from TES6, because this is the SUPER abbreviated version...

    some ideas I had were: Armour styles: Kind of like ESO, but including armour sets like Forsworn or Stormcloak Bear (can't remember exact name). The way you would get these is either by joining those factions and doing quests for their respective crafters OR if your character wouldn't join, then for every 50 pieces of that armour you break down, you'd get the knowledge to craft them. So to learn how to craft forsworn boots, you would need to break down 50 of them. Let us craft armour with different types of motif. E.g - Fur Armour, If we use wolf pelts, give us the option to add wolf motif OR Bear motif with Bear pelts etc. Another Idea, but it may be hard to implement, would be a different GUI for crafting. So if you were crafting a steel chest plate, there would be a outline of a torso (or possibly a mannequin) that we can add raw materials to. So we could use 3 ingots to cover the abs, but only 2 ingots and cover only the right of the chest and shoulder. Or use 5 in a X pattern to create a 'He-Man' style cross section of armour.

    I absolutely LOVE the idea of turning the trash items into crafting items! Maybe within your mentioned craftsmanship skill line you might have a perk that lets you get more material out of the "broom" or the "cast iron pot." The only problem I could see is that people would go around harvesting every single piece of cookery in the continent, turn it into iron and then sell it at a much higher price than the original pan. Maybe the garbage items could be turned into a different type of crafting material. Say, you mine some iron ore and smelt it. That gets you (fine) iron ingot. But if you melt down a cast iron pot, you get a (minor) iron ingot and it takes two (minor) iron ingots for every one (fine) iron ingot in a crafting recipe. Also the (minor) iron ingots would be worth only as much as the original garbage item they were made from. This is just an idea I came up with while watching your episode, and I hope you read this and discuss it further!

    I love your ideas, and here is another few. Make it so there will be a some kind of scheme for all pieces of armor/weapons. And they should add multi-stage crafting. Like first you smelt it, then you hammer it, then you cool it and repeat. This way it will feel like you actually made armor or weapon and not just randomly gave away materials. However, it could be made so that the armor or weapons are stronger when you smith those, since you actually put effort in them.

    D&D's got it right for enchantments. You get up to +5 normally. Each +X gives that amount to damage/hit, but each enchantment costs an amount. Like a flaming costs +1, so you could max out a +4 flaming sword. But another like vorpal, which gives a chance to insta kill, is like +5. But legendary items could go to like +10 or more. This would be good for daedric stuff.

    +Gentlish Englishman Witcher 3 got crafting right. Weapons, armor and every piece of shit item it in the game can be broken down into parts. You then need to hire a craftsman to break them down into those parts and also to create items for you. Makes crafting way less willy-nilly and much more special.

    Gentlish Englishman I suppose, but is it any less ridiculous than being a master pickpocket or lock picker? Perhaps a master alchemist or illusionist? Or being the champion of no less than... all the Daedric princes... (seriously though, *how*)? What I'm trying to say is that being a master smith in TES doesn't seem so crazy, heck, it probably be easier than becoming the *listener* of the Dark Brotherhood, or sneaking past Dremora.

    The problem with this is that although you can choose not to exploit the game, but sometimes you just can't help it. Back in Oblivion I always try not to use the 100% chameleon exploit, but whenever the game gets too hard I resort to use it out of frustration and then regret doing it later. Not having these glitches and exploits forces you to play the game legitimately.

    It's similar to a dev accidentally leaving an enchanted Daedric set in Helgen. The fact that it is there, and you know it is. Even if you don't take it, you know that other people will and your efforts to craft that stuff hundreds of hours down the line could have been avoided by just picking them up.

    one thing for alchemy is not have all the potions that you make look like restore health potions. If I make a magicka potion it should like a regular magicka potion. Another thing is for smithing is that your skill in smithing will determine how good the item will be. But to learn how to make a type of armor for example chitin armor you will have to find chitin armor and deconstruct it to learn how to make it. Also with extremely powerful items like a ebony sword you can only craft it at a special forge.

It's been so long that I'd forgotten how huge a part of the game this used to be. The intoduction of "Extinct" races would be FANTASTIC. We know that the Snow Elves still live thanks to the Dawnguard DLC, and the dwemer may exist in Oblivion, so why not find some why t bring them back and have them war? Additionally, for the Dwemer point in Skyrim you do a quest for Septimus Signis i beleive where you must collect the blood of all the Elven races, to open a Dwemer cube, which should be Dwemer blood. Create some sort of ritual to bring them back!

What could also be cool is runic armor, so instead of enchantments, you use runes to add a magic effect? Just an idea

    I really agree with this video on a lot of the points he makes. I would just add a few things if you wanna improve the role playing of the game. I know people will probably not like some of the things i am saying. 1. Forges/Alchemy stands/ Enchanting tables- shouldn't be inherently free- No one would let a complete stranger use their property without knowing them. You should need to do a quest to gain access to the crafting areas. 2. Forges should have to be lit and kept running- Unless every forge was enchanted to never go cold you should have to fuel it. 3. There should be hidden recipes- I agree with Camel when he says you should have to do quests for the different crafting recipes. There should also be hidden/forgotten ones to be found that no one else knows how to make. 4.The different race types for same gear shouldn't have same stats- If you have an argonian and an orc make the same iron armor there would be a big difference in how they make it so why wouldn't the stats. 5. More/ Different enchanting options- besides the loop for over powered gear i like how enchanting is now, but you are severely limited on what enchantments skyrim had. I think since skyrim was not a very magic friendly place they could say it was lore friendly but the next game needs to have other enchants and scale able enchants at that. 6. Hidden effects for potion making- I loved how alchemy was in skyrim but i would like to be able to make potions where ever if i have the equipment. I think that mobile alchemy should be scaled down from a potion stand. Potion stands should also have a 5th hidden effect that only shows up if crafted with a stand. 7. Not much i can say on spell making Camel explained it pretty well. You should only be able to do it at Mage areas like the magic college or other places like that.

    ...why would you cut out the exploits? I don't use them, but I don't give a good god damn if someone else wants to in their game. This isn't dark Souls, there is no PvP or multiplayer. If someone has more fun in their copy of the game by running around with a knife that can kill a god, who cares? I remember when I was younger, using the the Morrowind magic system to make an actual city-clearing nuke spell. I didn't use it in my first main play through of the story, I just did it to see what kind of shenanigans I could get into. I also buffed my speed so high I ran out of the game through the floor, so,

    I have 3 ideas: •Maybe you could give weapons temporary buffs from things in the world. I you put your sword in a fire, it gets hot and does burn damage for a few minutes until it cools down. Or if you put it in an icy river, maybe it will do frost damage. You could do this before entering a dungeon, or attacking a bandit camp. •You should be able to use anything as a weapon. For example, broomstick does like 2 damage. •And finally, the ability to throw weapons would be cool. You could carry 2 one-handed axes to throw, and 2 to use for melee. Or you could throw your sword onto one bandit's face, pull it out of his corpse, and use it to slash another bandit. Maybe if the enemy doesn't die, he'll pull your sword out of himself, open for attacks while doing so, or keep fighting with an axe stocking out of his chest, depending on who you're fighting. This last one might have a bit too much gore in it, though, so I don't know.

And enchantments like that you don't really notice very much and it's kind of like a perk for your weapon. I have some Ideas for Crafting Skills, mostly the Blacksmithing Skill... All those Empty Wine Bottles in Skyrim would have had better use... Ok, so for Blacksmithing, I want you to hold your breath. Instead of Racial Smithing, it would be far more Customizable to forge Different Blade Styles, add Fullers, Blood Grooves, Bleeder Holes, Unique and/or Personal Ricassos, Blade Length, Blade Width, Blade Thickness/Thinness, and even Serrated Blades. And for Guards, you can choose what ever Guard you want, Size, Length, Width, Style, Thickness/Thinness, add Ornate Designs, add Gems and Soul Gems, etc. The Handle should also be Customizable with Different Handle Types, Designs, Sizes, etc. And Pommels can also Define a Player's Character as well, so there would be many styles and types of Pommels. And what about Shields? They definitely need to more than just fucking Round Shields! With this idea, you could Forge your Perfect Personal Shield, by choosing the Type, Design, Style, Size, and a bunch of Extra Bits too, like the Handle, the Arm Strap, Big Ass Gems, etc. Now, for clothing, I know there are some Cloth Armor, but not everything clothing is armor, so seeing a mix of Armored Clothing and Non Armored Clothing would be nice. However, I don't completely agree with everything you said, regarding the Craftsmanship Skill, bit will do fully 100% agree with you on those Useless Junk Items that have no use or actual value, so why not give them a use by breaking them down back to their Raw Material State? Or like in Fallout 4, you can use them as is to make weapons, armors, etc. Spell Making needs to return, definitely.

    Good topic. I like the different styles from the base material. I would suggest different levels of quality. But also unique items you can only craft when your skill level is high enough and finding the method to make it in a book. Not a skill book but one that you actually have to read and the process is explained in whatever the story is about. Finally items that are unique to specific smiths. That could mean a style, quality, maybe even a item you can't get any where else. Like a guy who is just terrible at weapon craft but has learned to make horse shoes with varying abilities like stamina boost or speed or makes your horze the meanest horse this side of hell.

The better shape you make, the better the helmets defense ratings blahblahblah. I think this would be good idea for armour crafting, because I don't want to make something like Daedric Armor that looks insanely complex with 4 simple actions - Daedric Armor should be fucking hard the craft dang flabbit. I think that a really interesting idea for craftsmanship would be to allow the player to use certain ingredients to fortify their weapons and armor in unique ways. For example, adding fire salts into a cuirass would give you some amount of frost resistance, and perhaps some weakness to fire. Adding diamonds to a pair of gauntlets would increase magic damage, but also magic susceptibility. In addition, I think that it would be really cool if, given that every race has multiple styles of every armor piece, certain armors would give you certain buffs. For example, an Elven light gauntlet might allow you a 10% draw speed bonus on arrows, and you would be able to see your arrows fixed on a special attachment on your arm, perhaps just two or three at a time. Another would be for Redguard greaves to increase movement speed by 10%, or reduce stamina drain from sprinting. This would allow further customization of equipment without being forced to learn enchanting, increasing immersion in certain builds. These buffs might be weaker than enchanting so as to allow an incentive for enchanting.
