    The Drüid: Yes I'm not a big fan of COF myself either but I did see them in 2003 in Detroit on a co-headlining bill with Type O Negative. COF put on an amazing show, it was freaky because they had these two demons at either end of the stage on top of the guitar amps & I thought they were just props because they didn't move for a few songs & then all of a sudden they started moving & it was pretty cool. I was there to see Type O Negative as they are my favorite band, at the time COF bassist Dave Pybus was a big part in getting Type O on that your as Type O is Dave's favorite band. Type went on before COF & put on an amazing show! COF went on last because of a production stand point as they had way more props & gear to set up than Type O but both bands kicked ass.

Even on some later records he's a great metal vocalist. Live he's hit or miss but when he's on he's very good and I don't see how people can listen to those records and talk shit on his vocals.

    A lot of people hate on CoF for not being “true” Black Metal. In my opinion the reason they’ve lasted so long is because they have branched out so much. Gaga has been a life long metal fan, and it's been public knowledge since the beginning of her career. She's also a hell of a pianist. Dismissing someone because they make pop is simply just childish. If Beyonce were a metal fan, I would love to see her collaborate with someone. But alas, there is no evidence of that, so that WOULD be weird.

    They have plenty of great works. - I just think some albums have some stuff on them that drags the rest down. But their albums became more solid since like "Damnation". That one is great all throughout, "Nymphetamine" and "Thornography" pretty much as well. - As a musician and listening back, I get the idea they only knew what they were doing after 'Midian'. Which is a decent album, but very hit and miss.

    I love that he called out Kiss (in a way) because as a child I saw a Kiss poster and was terrified and fascinated. Then when I heard their music; I said "No really, I want to hear that band." pointing at the poster. "This is that band" I was told. 3 more songs and I wondered what the deal with the make-up/costumes was. My first ever WTF moment at 3 years old.

    That bit about rap bands posing with Uzis being more hardcore than metal bands stalking around in the woods is hilarious. 😂 He's not wrong! I don't listen a *lot* of CoF, but I absolutely think they deserve a place in the black metal genre. Their air of theater is fantastic, and he can certainly write some great lyrics.

  • @rainbowthrustars

    @rainbowthrustars

    LOL yeah as all these black metal clowns you mean who copied these artists right off the bat to use "corpse paint" it looks just as wimpy, as you put it. Personally I couldn't care less about how people want to display themselves. Back in the early 70s as we are talking about now, what they performance wise with their clothes and make up was pretty hardcore for those times, so makes sense to me. I guess they thought it was a cool thing to do and rhymes well with their drugs, booze and pary lifestyles they had. Alice Cooper was so fucking wasted at times he don't even remember some of the albums he has made haha. Anyway I'm not so much for Alice Cooper but I remain firm that the very first Kizz album is one helluva good rock n roll album with some of the best drum sounds ever recorded in human history and I don't really bother with any other album they released after that, which made them big.

    I finally saw Cradle of filth last year and unfortunately it was at a venue in Toronto that was too small for them. But I do like that bands can play festivals and have all of there stage show be a big part of the show and still tear it down to play places like the Opera House(rock metal bar in TO) without all the trappings. On that note I’d love to see the full big version of it.
