It is so hard to lose them, but we will see our loved ones again when we all reunite in Heaven. My Momma had a deep love for our Lord, and I got the blessing of hearing her look up to Heaven, and say, “Hi, God!” so comfortably a day or two before she passed (she courageously, fought cancer). Oh no, I'm not a turnip green fan . Lol. Another interesting fact about the Bays bread is that unless things have changed in the past few years the only place that Bays made the bread for was Cracker Barrel. No one else was allowed to buy it for commercial use.

I loved your story about the Barrel and your Mama Jennifer. What a great company to work for! I retired from there as a Server Trainer and I loved every minute. I have lifelong friends and great memories. True story...when I first started there after a week I couldn't button my work pants anymore and I couldn't figure out why. Well a coworker said "whenever I see you you are eating mac and cheese"! YEP! Never stopped either lol never will. Great video as always!

@James Boswell, it’s their pecan pie with semisweet chocolate chips baked underneath the pecans. The toasted pecans with the dark chocolate is so good. I bet your Mom’s pie is fabulous! 💗My Momma made the best fudge pie. She was famous for it in our family, and there was never a piece left. She was so sweet to make one with crust and one crustless for those who don’t like crust that much. We are blessed to have her handwritten recipe, but my sister and I just can’t make it as great as Momma’s. I think she put some extra love in it. 😊

There's my Mallow Cups! I always get that when I am there...and the Smoothies too...if they have them! No matter where I go....there will always be a meal at Cracker Barrell included! It's my favorite. Food has been consistently excellent. Service too! And I love the store. Great place to shop! I did not know the history. Such a shame that they didn't keep up this one. It's a historical landmark...at least in the South...lol. I had no idea you could buy the bread! Their French Toast is the bomb! Country ham? Yes please! Hashbrown casserole? Oh yea! Cracker Barrell has the only maple syrup that I like. Well...now I am hungry! LOL. Jennifer is right...the chow chow is great!! It's made with mostly cucumbers and onions with spices, vinegar and sugar. Love their greens too! I love it all...except for their chicken and dumplings. They do the rolled and I prefer the drop like my granny always made. So cool to hear Jennifer's memories of her family. Also had no idea about the buttermilk. I love a cold glass with my cornbread ...again...my Granny's influence..lol. I love the Coca Cola cake too! I have the recipe for it. It is a family favorite! I will have to study how you win the peg game so I can amaze everyone when we go. We always try...but I can't remember anyone ever solving it. Wow...long post...lol. I get on a roll about Cracker Barrell! LOL! Hope ya'll are having a great weekend! God bless!

When my Momma worked there, they had a sidewalk sale in November (it was like a Black Friday for Cracker Barrel), where employees got a super discount only on those days. She would let us know about it, and we did a lot of Christmas shopping during that sale. She got us $100, worth of really nice Christmas ornaments and decorations there for only $30! They filled up our whole Christmas tree! We were so sad to see the original store go too. When I was younger, we could stop by Southern Bay Bread and get a loaf of white or wheat sourdough bread for $1, a loaf! It’s only $2, a loaf now! I think you can still buy it at Cracker Barrel, but it’s not as cheap. That’s awesome that you know the Tennessee chow chow goodness! Sounds like we have the same great taste in Southern goodness! I have not saw the bread available at our local Cracker Barrell. Or in any I have been too...unless I overlooked it. I love that you can buy whole pies from them! Makes Thanksgiving and Christmas so much easier. I will let you know about the game!

A. noticed the bullying and decided to step in and defend me more than once. A particular occasion was this rude guy dropped his napkin on purpose as I was walking by. He expected me to pick it up. I ignored him. A. saw my face and handed the guy his napkin politely. Of course, the guy complained to the manager that I blew him off. When confronted, I said nothing and stared blankly. A. looked at our manager and said, He dropped it on purpose so I handled it." This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is a man.

I work @ store 220 in Stevensville Michigan. We managed to misplace our stovetop in the retail store after one of the legs fell off. It was a pain to move around doing floor rotations. You would be surprised just how many items we use and sell in the store that comes out of Lebanon.

That’s a deal on the bread for $2/loaf! I figured it out and my ingles multigrain bread is 34cents a slice! Lol gosh everything is expensive but I truly believe this area of western nc is over the top expensive That was interesting to hear the history! Thank you for that. Ive not been there in a long time. The closest one is Asheville and I don’t get that way often. Your children are so well mannered and cute!

Let me tell you about the sweetest millinial I ever met. I stay away from people for a reason. All they tried to do was hurt and frame me. While working, I had been accused of assaulting guests, pushing a little boy out of a chair onto the floor, and the rude comments I endured with every conversation especially from Christians, would've driven any normal human being into depression. Hi Kim. We're a little confused on what you're referring to. We're sorry that you had a bad experience at Cracker Barrel.

We have a cracker barrel in Lancaster pa and one in Downingtown pa and when they built the one in Downingtown pa I was a little surprised because they built it in a regular area its not along any interstate it sits along us rt 30 about 30 miles west of Philadelphia and plus that area is not a tourist area either and they do pretty good there where the cracker barrel in Lancaster pa is in a tourist area and it's also along us rt 30 and they do pretty good t

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV thank -you my weekend was good I was on vacation I go bk to work on Monday and pecan not fan of nuts am sure it good wat I like homemade yest roll my grandma made and she also made homemade red velvet cake it was good now she passed away few yrs. ago my cousin makes the cake now it good, but nobody can come close to it. Nobody can top it unless we buy sister Schubert's roll that as close as we can get to my grandma yeast rolls. and my grandpa used to make homemade chow chow unit he passed away now got buy am from Kentucky it hard to find unless I go to jungle Jim's or get it somewhere else.

@Aerial Ross, hope you have had a great vacation! Those all sound so delicious. I know exactly what you mean. My Momma was famous in our family for many dishes, and even though my sister and I are blessed to have some of Momma’s handwritten recipes, it just isn’t the same as our Momma’s when we fix them. I think she put some extra love into all of her recipes. 💗 Those Sister Schubert rolls are awesome. They remind me of the yeast rolls that we would make with our Momma when we were little. There used to be some great ones in the freezer section of Kroger and Walmart, but I’m not sure if they still sell the same ones we used to make. They were little balls of yeast dough. You had to defrost them. Then set them out on a baking sheet, brush them with melted butter, cover them with plastic wrap, and if it was a sunny TN day that wasn’t too hot, we set them outside on a table on our back deck to rise. That wonderful smell and taste of those buttery yeast rolls…..delicious! Our Momma made the best cornbread dressing at Thanksgiving too, and although I’ve come close, I cannot make it as good as hers. All of those great family recipes bring great memories, don’t they? We love visiting Jungle Jim’s (we posted a video a few months ago) when we visit our family in Ohio! Such a neat store! Hope you have a great rest of your weekend and an easy week back to work!

When I travel down to Florida (I live in Ohio) - I always stop at Cracker Barrel to eat. Thank you so much for telling us the history. Very interesting. Great memories for Jennifer also.

That's strange that there was no price on the meals for the lunch and dinner on the back of the menu. 🤔I used to know how to solve the peg game. Their blueberry pancakes are incredible and we love how they bring the syrup out in the warm glass bottles. What is your favorite candy and soda pop to try? We enjoy the Mallo Cups and the Double Cola. Thanks for watching, Frank.

@gorymarty56, we are big fans of turkey and dressing too. My Momma made the absolute best cornbread dressing with the perfect amount of sage, and homemade sweet potato casserole with a topping of cornflakes, chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter baked on top. Although I’ve come close, it’s not as fabulous as hers….I think she put some extra love into her recipes.💗 Thanks so much for watching, and we hope you’re having a great Sunday!

We agree! If the turkey is going to be seasonal, they should offer some seasonal dressing as an option.
