Oh God, when you showed the traffic, I knew exactly where you were and it is just the worst place to drive at any time of day lol. Welcome back to Texas!

Americans are so cute when it comes to traffic. You’ve clearly never tried Paris, Rome, Syracuse (Sicily), Delhi, or many many other places.
You are having too much fun, Albert!

Forget the flash, you faced a challenge and overcame it, great work mate! Also, your climbing partner seemed really supportive and patient, what a godsend. Mine all shout contradictory advice at me! XD
Good job man. You’re getting it! I’m also learning crack climbing atm and have watched all the wide boys stuff. Stoked. I’m feeling pretty great about it. The first attempt was Robyns crack Mt Woodson. Couldn’t fit my huge hands into it, just fingers. Plus I had the solution shoes that my feet’ knuckles were sticking up in and had absolutely no give. Definitely look up appropriate crack friendly comfortable shoes before starting. Then I grabbed Mythos and suddenly was getting it on some stuff over at Santee boulders. Super stoked. Edit: oh yeah and crack gloves... I’m finding to be useful when starting. Adam over at Nomad Adventures climbing store who’s freaking super dope btw was explaining how it’s likely you’ll end up taping them eventually but for now, when learning I should use them because it’s better to not feel lots of pain, especially when flailing around. Don’t want to burn out. Get some flow going and then evolve to tape. He explained that eventually you want to feel the wall more and it’s textures. But don’t grate you your hands while learning.

I've used gloves once, and should have taped here - but we didn't have tape or time to do it since we were afraid of the guards haha. I'm definitely going to go out to Indian creek and really try some hard lines out there!

Ayy
There are a few bridges with at least a few dozen sport routes in my city. Drilled out holds, glued on holds, chipped rock to make for holds, even some 2x4s drilled to climb out from under a roof. These climbs are NOT on mountain project, however. We try to keep these not-so-legal spots under the radar :P Fun stuff though climbing in a major city!

Smart man! I bet it's so fun there!
Dude this is a great video. It blows my mind to see Mario in one of your videos, had no idea that you coached in DFW. I was apart of his climb fit program in 2016/17 at the summit grapevine location. Mario is full of knowledge and commits 100% of his time to climbing. He's one of the best out there.

That's about a splitter and a half which I would have no qualms about soloing. It reminds me of a parking building crack I buildered.

Nice!
I have no crack experience and I just wonder does layback work easier than hand jam in crack climbing ?
@AlbertOkay
3 жыл бұрын
In certain scenarios yes, but often no. Once things get overhung it gets near impossible to layback. I probably could have lay backed allot of this crack, but I wanted the experience!
What gym is this? They have all the good holds lol
well, that crack looked like you could jam you foot in and layback on to, if a crack is challenging to me it's for the most part overhanging as im bad at overhanging cracks, terribol overall at jamming which makes me lean more to laybaking if possibol than jamming for the most cases the only time i can't layback a crack is when it's overhanging pretty much, just a slight overhang might be enough as often i can just put my foot in the crack layback style and use the other side as a foothold to keep the balance right, but that is very hard if it's overhanging, i remember in the old gym we had in my city we had an overhang on the rope wall that had a built in crack that was slippery as hell, never really tried it to much either but the times i attempted it i had no chance at it, maybe a more exsperinced crack climber would been able to climb it but not me ohh wait i saw one more exsperinced crack climber do it with no effort almost once when thinking about it
@AlbertOkay
3 жыл бұрын
I for sure could have lay backed it and since I'm more comfortable doing that as a boulderer I definitely could have, but I wanted the challenge to work on something I'm not used to!
@KelvinClimber
