every time Arin ran past Heart Kelps without picking them up or not using one to heal before fighting something, my eye twitched. I wasn't rabid about it but it was a teensy tiny bit irksome. Thankfully these two crack me up regardless so not a huge deal lol I really do hope they play this again with some tips info under thier belts!

The entire first half of this video feels like Arin and Dan forgot they're playing a video game, like suddenly around the 22 minute mark they snap back to reality and pretend to care about the game again

I really hope this becomes a series, this game is really well paced and adds a lot of mechanics organically. Its not just trying to be a souls game, its a well refined game that incorporates the setting and environment into the combat in a really satisfying way

I adored this game so it makes me a bit sad that Arin showed disinterest from the start, but PLEASE, just once go to settings, accessibility options, gun. I just need to know that they know that it's there.

For the first time ever I actually bothered to look up the price. "it can't be THAT much" I said. "what, like 50 dollars for a tin?" It apparently ranges from 80 bucks at walmart (imagine. walmart caviar. there's... you could write a half hour standup routine about that) to _twenty-three grand_ for the albino stuff. Most of the other brands seem to be between 400 and 5000 dollars. Incredible. I think I would rather never taste it, knowing what I'd have to do to get more. Nothing tastes as good as that much work hurts. And then Dan looked it up. okay.

I think he must have half-read the second part, because he said “wait do I have to do a charge attack?” So he must have skimmed over it and subconsciously memorized it, even if he didn’t fully pay attention. That or his gamer intuition suggested it to him.

I think a lot more thought was put into the plot of this game than Arin thinks. It has a lot of heart and charm and some interesting things to say. I kind of hope they stick with it.

Arin, I really wish you paid this game more attention.

Long story short in the comments: people are really mad that Arin is not invested and seems to be on auto pilot skipping dialogue and not paying attention to anything in the game, missing out on valuable information, and there probably won't be a full series.

i think halfway through, arin forgot that this game is a souls like game, even tho in the first minute he said that this game is a souls like crab game. because a lot of the confusion and failure could be avoided if they're aware they should do all the mechanic of a souls like game, like dodging, locking on to an enemy, drinking estus flask, knowing a that the lobster guy is a boss character that triggers with a cutscene and the arena cage you in

I've watched a few people play this and that always seems to happen at this part. Dodging just goes completely out the window. Which may work in a souls game but in this the shells break so it's extremely detrimental. Especially when the bosses throw unblockables a lot

This is such a perfect game for you guys to play, it has a really silly sense of humour and is also just genuinely fun. 🦀

Mega Man Zero was pretty popular when it came out, cause it was part of the X storyline. It got 4 games telling a single continuous arc. ZX was the offshoot that didn't garner much attention, had two games with a single continuous arc but it teased a third entry that never manifested. Both series were released together a year or two ago as a collection, which is why it's gotten a resurgence in attention.

@@bingonight1504 It can be. It super depends on the brand that may just be crossing the very bare minimum to call itself caviar, but there are a decent handful that usually get a lot of reviews that boil it down to being regular deli meat quality. Just requires some careful research.

There's something about characters gutturally yelling while delivering their lines cracks me up. I was just laughing all the way through that boss fight.

I believe the reason this game was made is that it came out recently that microplastics mess with hermit crabs brains affecting their judgement. A lot of hermit crabs are choosing to wear things like bottle caps as shells rather than natural ones. Ironically this does kinds help them survive by allowing them to camouflage themselves in piles of trash. I learnt that from scishow

I play a lot of soulslikes and usually hate everything about grab attacks, from their starting frames and perceived hitbox to the time they take to complete. This is the only game I have ever played that I made sure to be grabbed by every single boss that had one. Not only are the tells excellent, the animations are so unique, brutal and impactful, I genuinely never felt more excited to see a new death animation. It's a shame they didn't find the guillotine boss right at the start of the game, it's grab straight up made my jaw drop, and went on to being one of the most iconic moments in the whole game for me. This game had me pulling my hair at some decisions, mainly over its level design, but the animations alone are enough to make so many triple A studios embarrassed. Your friend is absurdly talented, and if not for them, I would probably never 100% this game.

A real shame Arin is the way he is, I don't think he's gonna appreciate much of his work, but I can tell you right now that I absolutely enjoyed all of his work in this game. The passion seriously shows, & I was truly blown out of the water (pun intended) with the scope of how good the animations were.

Bless my grandma for patiently overhearing this episode plus others while I paint her dining room (I had started listening when she went to church earlier) and she reads - she insisted I continue listening to my videos 😂

Fun fact about Dan and Arin's brief Ant convo. "Day 1: one ant. Day 2: 10,000 ants." Colonies will send out what is referred to as a Scout Ant, usually a single ant, on a "Solo Sneaking Mission", whose job it is to find food, and once they do, to head back to the colony, report it, and then bring back their "10,000" reinforcements to retrieve this food as quickly as possible. If you are going about your business at home, or any other domicile you would prefer to not having several tiny invaders, it is usually in your best interest to make sure that the Scout Ant "does not make it back to their home base."

god arin is just insufferable when he decides he doesn't want to even try and enjoy a game. could tell right from the start he has no intention on making this one a series. shitting on the story before it even began. dan is a fuckin' saint idk how he hasn't snapped.

Got excited given the thumbnail and how fun the devs are on social media, but Arin doesn't seem interested in it beyond shitting on any story again. So if I don't end up finishing this, I'll probably just either get the game myself or watch another dude play it. I love him, but I'm already over it 4 minutes in. RIP.

i love this game just from the 42 minute video i just watched. id love to see a full playthrough similar to the soulsbourne games they played

I hope so much this isn't a one-off video and they play the whole game. It's so good and fun!

for 40 minutes straight, I could only keep hearing Allie (their previous 10mph mom for anyone unfamiliar) echoing in the distance... "Crabification, dude!!"

Whenever I hear Arin exclaim "Holy Shit!" like at 16:42 in this video, I immediately get reminded of Sonic climaxing in Peach's hand as he wakes up.
