Bringing back more memories to an old man..... You are so lucky that they started cleaning up the Swan when they did. Back in 1960 I had my photo on the front page of the Sth Perth local rag (Can't remember what it was called). The picture was of me paddling down the river on a Double Mattress. It was titled "Boy having fun". It was quite accepted in those days and 3 massive rubbish dumps ran straight into the river. In about 1965 I was in the paper again for catching a huge Mulloway in a crab net, it was reported at the time to be about 80lbs, but to my knowledge it was never weighed. I still remember the terror I felt rowing my little 10ft dingy after my float. I then called one of the old Italian net fisherman to help me. It was at night, we never used torches , just the odd Hurricane lamp. Ah, thanks Dom, they were the days...........and nights.

Im about to go catch some cockles soon, mte. Before the season is up. They make the best whiting and salmon trout bait. Just great for beach fishing and boat fishing. Most fish love them. I take the kid down to Goolwa beach and catch a bucket load. Fantastic work, mate. Finally got some good-sized blues. That dish looked amazing. When we get home from catching cockles, the kid pan fry them in butter and Italian herbs. She lives them. 👌

Nice one! I catch herring every week for me and my mum, there is something special about catching and sharing food with the family. I get why you didnt pig out for us on the camera. I'm going to head south of mandurah and catch some crabs this week!

Mr fish Tucker man …. I only cook my sand crabs 🦀 🦀 in sea water and eat with fresh bread rolls and Great Northerns . Cockles are perfectly acceptable to be eaten with herbs ,spices ,crushed tomatoes and copious amounts of spaghetti . Not too many crustaceans today Dom but should be better as the season progresses I guess . Cheers 🍗 🍻 🐓 🍻

Try no fail bait and berley.Day old french bread stick crumble with fish oil last a couple outings.The killer chicken livers and breast heavy salt and fish oil .Done right just smells like fish oil. Free feed for a week same time each day you will have a great fishing spot great for your nephew .If it fails I will refund your money
