CRAB POTS full of BIG MUD CRABS !!! - PRAWNS for lunch???

The mud crabs and prawns are plentiful after recent heavy rain. I catch and cook prawns for lunch. Checking the crab pots / traps, I can't believe the huge numbers of crabs in the pots!!!

    My understanding of the current rules is a possession limit of 7 per person and 14 per boat with 2 or more people on board applies in Qld waters. Male crabs must be a minimum of 15cm across the shell and all female crabs must be released. I am sure you have lots of great memories and fantastic stories of your time spent fishing and crabbing this area. Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your experiences. Regards, Brad

    Great video mate. I have to ask is that system open to professional crabbing. Why I ask is I don't think I have ever seen that amount of crabs Especially legals in such a short amount of time. Where I am there are pro crabbers and you have to be lucky to even get a feed most times.

  • @returnoutdoors2210

    @returnoutdoors2210

    Yes the system is open to professional crabbing to my knowledge. Conditions for crabs have been favourable in this region and has resulted in good numbers of crabs. As we head into the drier months the crabs will become a challenge to catch here as well. Thanks for your comment!
