The part about sending cards to space, it was actually both. E-HERO Neos & the Neo Spacian archetype were in a separate capsule than Yubel, sent at different times, for different reasons. I think archetypes are one of the best things that have happened to Yugioh, because they allow you to explore many themes and combinations that you wouldn't otherwise explore. In addition to the existence of archetypes, it does not prevent mixing or trying combinations, it is not for nothing that there are cards with interesting synergies such as the Dogmatika-Invoked-Shaddoll deck that literally combines 3 different archetypes in a single deck. Also, I want to mention that the archetypes have allowed for amazing narratives to be told using the cards, just take a look at things like the "World Chalice" or the whole "Branded/Albaz" lore, which on their own could be their own anime.

There are many fun combinations you can do with certain archetypes. However, many players chose to use those other archetypes as engines for their better staples rather then as a fun combo deck. You will more often then not see a deck running multiple archetypes to get the best features from each (typically negate cards, hand traps, or free summons). Using archtypes such as adventure or spright as an engine rather then playing them as a deck, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of the archetypes in general.

Joey was a real one. The only one brave enough to run an all monster deck!
He's talking about how the power creep prevents newcomers from enjoying the game because they have to know all effects each card has so they can use their deck in the best way they can. The problem isn't the mass amount of text a single card has, the problem is that 99% of modern cards have a mass amount of text... Why do you think Konami may be wanting to do a hard reboot with Master Duel by returning to its roots. There is just far too much stuff that happens in modern duels that anyone who want to get into the game (either after stopping for years or a complete newcomer) they will get overwhelmed very easily, even in casual dueling.

Joey is easily the best character in the first Yugioh series. It oddly feels like only his voice actor was able (or allowed to) put more improv or tone into his lines. In one duel when he's so exhausted and can't make a move, he just goes "Ugh, I' done" when everyone else has to say "I end my turn." Also, the fact that in Season 4 he literally thought of and was about to throw a duel and lose his soul hoping Mai would snap out of her bad decision is amazing. Recognized Johnny Silver Hand , Benny From Fallout New Vegas , & Leon from Resident Evil? LMAO WAT
You triggered my hairline card I activate receding hairline
I had a choice of yugi’s starter deck or kaiba’s. Stupid young me thinking that since yugi’s the main character his deck is gonna be stronger. Nope. Dark Magician couldn’t beat Blue eyes straight up so it’s a disadvantage already. Still salty about it to this day cuz i got my ass beat by blue eyes from friends

Funnily enough, the Yugi starter deck was still better, because Summoned Skull - you'd still want to get both though because of La Jinn in the Kaiba deck as well
Love Act Man videos
idk that pokemon OG theme goes pretty damn hard, both great tho
I was BIG yu gi oh kid when i was younger, i never knew how to play and id play for cards and the older kids would make up rules to take my cards and i just thought i sucked lmao
37:18 yes they are awesome
Getting into this game or returning after ages can be hard, but it's certainly not impossible. Just needs some patience and time to learn how to properly read the cards. I only ever watched the OG anime and played a couple Gameboy games, probably never even touched an IRL card as a kid. A few years ago I "got back" into Yugioh thanks to Duel Links. Nowadays Master Duel is among the only games I play in my rather limited freetime....All because I somehow stumbled upon certain top10 and lore channels and got hooked on those artworks and archetypes.

I found that introducing mechanics by playing/making them use a deck built around a given mechanic works pretty well. Especially if you play it against them a few times first. That's how I finally taught myself pendulums lol.
Magic the gathering has formats and it’s still an issue. Although for legacy only the old cards a good modern is a bit better but still has issues and standard I don’t know how I would feel about having to constantly change so often

Moist Jesus needs a Ritual card to summon it and its only effect is to summon a monster from the graveyard?

I have no idea what I was thinking when I made that a few years ago. I've made plenty of fake card before but not too many for KZreadrs. Then again it was a meme card
Oh man i finally found a deck that i really like using, dinomorphia with a spice of lab
I watched season zero last month thar shit went HARD
If you lose the duel, you lose your soul!
I’ve had so many people forfeit on Master Duel because my turns are so long due to the combos
It's amazing how poor that man's taste in card art is.

Gustav Max existed in real life.
Yubel was part of the cards sent to space iirc? Thats why when it came back e hero neos along with the neospacians ended up as actual cards Yubel was already a card before it was sent to space iirc (?)
It's funny to me people in the comments talking about other people comparing Yu-Gi-Oh and mtg. What some people ether don't know or forgot is that Yu-Gi-Oh spawned from mtg. In the manga the game was originally called magic and wizards like I don't know how much more blatant it could be. Yu-Gi-Oh exists because the creator was a fan of mtg.
38:56 Theres also cards like card guard. He just give another card an "extra life" or grand itself 300ATK with its tokens aslong as the card exists on the field There are card that are without archetype that stll find ways to be relevant
Mystic Mine has been banned for years
I am hating what yugioh is becoming. Ive been playing for like 15+ years but master duel ranked is miserable. There was a match i played the other day where my opponents first turn was 22-23 minutes long, i finished the current anime episode i was watching in the background and got around half way through the next episode by the time he had finished. By the time my first turn had started i had 1 card in my starting hand, couldn't draw monster cards or spell cards for the next 3 turns, so basically i didnt have a draw phase. There were 24 cards from my main deck now in the banish pile. And he could negate the first 3 things i placed on the board each turn and banish them. He could have killed me any time because he had like 20k attack on the board but he wanted to just annoy me so after 3 turns of me not having a draw phase he activated more copies of the cards that stop me from drawing so i had another 3 turns of it vanishing any monsters or spells i draw. Then after like an hour of me LITTERALLY not playing a card on the field he activated a card that destoryed a monster and we both take its attack as damage but then he activated a card that made him gain the damage instead so i went to around -24000 life points and he went to 32000 life point's. Its so fucking dumb playing these days, i have made one meta deck that wins me half the matches i play in ranked but i hate playing it because now my turns and their turns also take like five minutes each. So most days i just play with friends using anime decks, but you cant earn gems doing that so you are forced into ranked to earn gems if you want to make decks. Plus you get almost no gems playing online, i have 299 hours on master duel and i have just finished my 10th deck, it takes like a week of grinding to get one deck finished if its mostly ultra rares
We got Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball Z late in SA both shows played back to back every weekday good times.
Yugioh songs do not miss they are so good Like first theme the 5ds into and clear mind
It'll never be like it was when it started.. that's why so many switched to MTG before quitting card games entirely.. video games took over.
24:32 I like it, because it is complicated to
in hearthstone we rage if otk'd turn 6-7 yugioh player: hold my beer you think you get a turn? pokemon player: shiny charizard!!!! magic player coudn't comment, lost his house buying the next meta deck

Oh man...there were some Pokemon decks that are just as mean as some Yugioh decks. What made it worst is that there was no sideboarding at the time.
Looking back I think kiba was warning use about Elon musk lol
I tried Yu-Gi-Oh again after 10 years i just play dinomist idk what i m doing
I think joey became famous as the guy who kept upgrading his deck. We all know the cards Im talking about😊
The art comment offended me, AS A TRAIN PLAYER
Im not a Joey fan but red eyes is my guy red eyes zombie on my zombie deck and toon red eyes on the toon Deck with black stones are just nice to me
