CPKC 246 Though Duplainville

CP 8600, and running in the middle is CP 9768, lead 246 east, on the CPKC Watertown Subdivision. This was filmed on Springdale Road, in Duplainville, WI. Again, it was very nice to catch a CP (KC...), but this train had some good power! Leading was CP 8600, which is an older AC44, with a sweet sounding P3! P3's aren't my favorite horns. In fact, I don't really like them, but many people do. Running in the middle was another AC44. No KCS units in sight! Lately, KCS units have been the norm, so it's nice to see some CP units!

I love the sound of them as their coming towards you. Distant trains sound awesome as well. Who needs a therapist when you have trains!

Nice catch! Judging by the bell-less signals and that your in duplainville, I could immediately tell you were at the springdale road crossing lol. Nice spot for a change from the Duplainville road crossing. Also like the P3 horn on the leader. Used to see those alot on SOO SD-40's

Thanks! You sure know this area pretty well. I moved to this road because Duplainville was packed! The P3 was a nice, I'm not old enough to remember them on Soo units though!

@@SEWisconsinRailfan Thanks! Ya, it helps when you live nearby the watertown sub and have been by and are familiar with majority of the crossings on it since you were a kid. Ya there were Soo SD-40's with P3's. Used to see them alot pulling short freight trains. They are more than likely repainted into the CP livery by now though.
