A new interlocker, cleared brush = a new and improved fanning spot. The first train I have seen pass over the new diamond here in Clark seen here, CPKC grain empties returning back to Jacksonville, IL to be loaded. The leader on this train, CP 8806, features a great sounding Sandbox K3L, the first one I have recorded on this channel. Great sounds as the axles pass over the jointed rail and interlockings. Grain trains are my favorite bulk train types to see, and this one featured a nice mix of them. As we inch further into post-merger time, CP power is getting more relevant along the ex-KCS systems. It is always nice to see two railroads come together to form a bigger and greater company, especially two of great size.
