I will always have a personal appreciation for that series between the Rockets and the Warriors because that series was where I started to learn about systems and play styles and the importance of adjustments.

Ariza was critical. In 2020, it was Danuel House in the Bubble that was critical. The way Houston played, they needed everyone healthy and when those guys were out due to free agency or foolish decisions, the Rockets faltered

When Morey didn't want to bring back Ariza, I knew Houston wouldn't be the same. Ariza was a big part of that team's defense. Paired with Tucker, they were shutting down everyone on the wing
I said the same exact thing. When they lost Trevor Ariza , that was the beginning of the end for them. Ariza is the perfect 3&D 6'8" SF that you need to build a championship caliber team. Without a prototypical guy like him, you're done.
Cause Ariza was that defensive Key on the perimeter! Always was, and still a threat on offense.

That 2018 rockets team was terrifying for a warriors fan, even still it would’ve been amazing to see them pull it off. Forever underrated what they accomplished
Trevor ariza was huge. And also ryan anderson gave them a floor spacer who could also go into the post at times so they didnt have to just rely on 3s. They over did it on the small ball strategy

Why has everyone tried to create a negative opinion about cp3? Not only is he one of the greatest point gaurds in the league. But he is also a class act! Every team he goes to, wins!
Trevor Ariza has been one of the best role players in the league for years from way back before he was with Kobe and the Lakers his Defense on Guards is elite and he has a three ball and can score at the rim solid

@@NateT092 CP3 meant more to the Rockets than Iggy or KD meant to the Warriors. Warriors still had Curry Klay and Dray outside of Iggy or KD. They won two without KD and one without Iggy (pretty much). Houston only had Harden outside of CP3. Common sense

@@NateT092 First of all, they did not get "waxed." Literally ever game in that series ended within a 5-pt deficit. Second of all, Steph, Klay, and Draymomd reminded everyone of who they were before KD. It was not a big surprise that they won that series without him.
I can remember when that happened. I was so confused just as a spectator as to why they didn't break back Ariza. It didn't really make a lot of sense as someone who was that solid for you to not bring him back

And they didn’t do a good enough job replacing the depth. They had signed iman shumpert late in the season, and he gave okay minutes. Had some solid playoff moments. But losing ariza and Mbah moute as well as Ryan Anderson was a big deal.

Chris Paul was a monster that series for the most part the defense from tucker Ariza and Clint capela blocking a lot of shots in the paint they were up on the warriors with Chris Paul playing amazing he got hurt late in the previous game that he was cooking they should have beat the warriors and we should have seen the rockets vs cavs or whoever don’t even remember anymore lol

I think people miss the last part where he said they didn’t bring back Ariza and how that was a major part of their success. Trevor Ariza was a weapon back in those days he’s not cappin, but those Rockets teams were fun to watch back in the day… despite James Harden making himself look like a cheat code
If he didnt get injured, they wouldve beat the Warriors, and when he went out, they had no one to control the pace of the game, and went back to D'antoni's system is based on pusing the tempo and offense, with no defense. CP3 was a true floor generL when the coach wanted to push the ball. They jacked up so many missed 3's and kept shooting, til they shot themselves out of that series
