Love Trains & A Fan Of You! I'm Only 13 But Will Always Love Train!

I have always been fascinated by trains. I know it's unusual for a female. When I lived in Pennsylvania I used to take my son and years later my grandkids to Strasburg railroad to ride on the steam locomotive and the train museum. I could watch these videos all day. Thank you.

Unfortunately, coal is being given a hard time under enviromental reforms in such places like Glasgow, Scotland in November of 2021.😁😷

I love him im a big fan of wide world of trains

Go down towards the Peninsula of Florida Orlando area and you will. Just about every day there is one going into the electric plant. As for me, I live on the Pensacola end of the Panhandle. I also have the best of two worlds on this end of the state. I can watch the 11 PM news at 10 PM since the time zone break is on the Apalachicola River.

Looks like that Intermodal CP 8127 & 8612 were being overworked, being the reason the traction motor caught fire. Thanks to the two CSX units 9019 & 158 for salvaging CP 8612 from their military train which they parked up, about two years ago I read. Thanks for the interesting story & music. 😁😄👌👍😷

Yes!! 904! One of My favorite CSX GEvo. LOVE the K5H horn from the old BC Rail C40-8Ms👍 and Of course General Electric locomotives catch fire😆

Looks like both of the CSX tow engines at one time had turbo fires by the rust on the top near the exhaust.

I was a crew driver for CSX a few years ago, and i got good close-ups of some engines, CSX has some engines with the same weird trucks as CP 8612, they are made in the Republic of South Africa, its made into the castings.

What makes these locomotive trucks interesting is their ability to flex when going through curves, there are mechanical linkages that allow them to "steer" themselves, thus reducing the amount of wear on the wheel flanges.

That train is on fire!!!!

That coal train was going pretty fast. Around here they are restricted to 35 mph

Well I've seen GE units catch fire from time to time, the reasons vary. All I can say is that if it were an EMD, it'd still be burning. Also, love the power of the GE's. A single unit pulling a pretty good sized train. 👍👍

@@youraveragejoe2 I worked there a few years ago. We built 30 of the locomotives for cp. Normally it is a station build. 1 through 5. Books on each station to sign off on for all of that station jobs. Then air float to next station. They jammed those locomotives through so fast. Most of the time not even half of books finished before next station. We were doing station 1 on station five. Most of the time trying to get everything done in the yard. We were amazed they ran at all lol. I guarantee that many had major problems after delivery lol.

It was a traction motor fire thats why the grinding when it went by

On the video he said it was a traction motor fire and the scorching and soot on the paint on the cab certainly supports that. Slightly more serious than a turbo fire if it happens on the cab end as there is more of a risk to the crew...

@@bartomand3681 when turbo's fail, its usually the turbo lubricant & feed that ignites, hence the term " Runaway Turbo" and the result is fire outside the exhaust stack, seen time & time again. As stated by both other railfan & WWOT, it was a traction motor, safe railfanning & merry christmas.😎👌👍😷

No they are CP trains when in Canada, such as this one is cp142 in Canada, but when it comes over to the US and on CSX trackage it's re-designated q166 - 165
