You are certainly becoming my favourite place to go to unwind on KZread. Thank you for the inspiration. Because of you I'm over 25k words (and counting) on the novel I've been planning since I was 14. (I'm nearly 28 now, so it's been on the back burner for a while LOL). LOVE watching your creative process. Your content is so cozy-- the write with me/project teacup updates are my favourite! Watching the word count go up makes me so proud of you!! I'm positive 12-year-old you would be very proud!

My accent is all over the shop, I don't blame you! I was born in Adelaide as well but moved to Queensland for a few years and then finally settled in Victoria, I have rural Victorians on my dad's side and then my mum's side is British. Then you've also got the British TV and American TV influence over here too. So, my accent is like kind of just an amalgamation of stuff. An old friend said I sounded like I'm from Tasmania weirdly enough. But I love your videos and I'd love to be a published author one day, just got to get my butt into gear, but I've had some creative nonfiction published so that's always nice. Edit: Also I got inspired to write from Harry Potter too, it's a damn shame I'm not a fan of the author anymore (no I will not discuss all this stuff thxs).

I watched it either just before I started reading The Fellowship of the Ring or just after, and I recently revisited it. I'm currently in the chapter Many Meetings (Fellowship Book 2). I'm taking my time with this book, having started this past January, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I've been a devoted fan of the movies since they came out, especially the extended editions. I've seen lately how stories need to be at least 60k to be considered novels so been feeling very down about how hard it is to get to that word count. Is 1,000 words roughly 3 book pages as it says on the internet? I'm having trouble visualizing how many pages you've written when you talk about word count. Google mostly talks about 12 pt font, double-spaced, but that's not usually how books are formatted.

Oh I don't think about it in terms of pages because every book formats its pages a little differently :) A YA/Middle grade is generally going to have a larger font and more spacing than an adult novel. A novel that's only 60,000 words is probably going to make its font and spacing larger to beef up the pages while a book like Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell (250k words) has a tiny font to reduce the number of pages. So, counting in pages is basically useless bc it's so inconsistent. That's why publishers/agents/magazines/editors and everyone in between uses word count not pages 😊 for the doc I'm using rn it's somewhere between 290-380 words to a page but again that's not super helpful if you compare it to an actual book

I’m happy for you writing your own book but miss your old channel content. Not much about books you’re reading anymore. I’ll keep popping in though!

Okay, fantastic video, but I have to know: WHY IS THE POTATO SO BIG. Is it an Australian thing? Maybe its because I don't cook much, but I don't think I've ever seen a potato that large here in US

I am so sorry that your love for LoTR was spoiled by the comments of fans. I absolutely love LoTR, but the community is very toxic and self-entitled at times. I really enjoyed that video and I’m sure many other did as well.

I am worried about you, Miss Jones, because seems to me that you are more worry about the amount of the words in your book than to tell a good story.I dont know...it looks like to me.

I'm just impatient 😅 the reason why I feel like is going slowly is BECAUSE I care much more about the quality than the rising of the word count. If I were writing sloppily I could easily do 3000+ per day, but I'm writing carefully so it's about 1/3 of that.

@@christy-anne-jones First of all, thank you, Miss Jones, for take my opinion to the bright side - I wondering here if you would be upset with my words.Gladly not.Second, I know that you put so much energy and hard work on it.But, just be patience.Let the story carry you, don't push it.I am sure that you will give us a great fantasy.I am writing too, but my goals is not about pages but quality storytelling. You are on the right way.Just stay hungry.Congrats from Canada/Brazil.Take care.

If you make a video about your opinions on the most beloved book trilogy ever written, you are going to get harsh comments - especially if you apply modern day ideals/realities to your interpretation.

I'm not talking about the people who shared their opinions on the book. I'm talking about the people who told me I was "a dumb bitch who should go back to reading [my] girl books". And also, 'most beloved book trilogy' nor not; nothing makes it okay to be hateful and nasty for no reason.

It is so hard to talk about Tolkien's online, and I still try to find, in his writings, what inspires some of his fans to be so nasty... Tolkien, as it seems to me, was such a sweet and caring man... well, I love your video about TLOTR, and I hope to see you talking more about him anytime soon. 🤍🍓
