I've always had the feeling the Japanese "Engrish" was never close to American English (which arguably is the common accent nowadays). Sure enough, it was an Englishman in the 1600's that taught the Japanese the English language. All of that history led to this moment.

Tokyo Calling and Toryanse are awesome. Their Otona Blue on The First Take is one of the most popular First Take videos. More than Babymetal.
