You made a perfect video. Informative and only three minutes long. Well done!

Thanks Ben, appreciate the feedback.
Did you get the cover made for transporting bikes, or just covering them while stationery? I didn't see the additional straps that the travel cover has in your video.

More for transporting but I only will use it if rain is forecasted. There is a cinch strap but I'd use more rope or something else to secure it from the bottom as well.
after some time, how was this cover with the sun beating down on it? Does it get brittle?
I have this cover and your installation is OK, as long as you don't drive the vehicle. Properly securing the cover would have been a good ending.

Yep good call, I just showed it. Absolutely should be tied down more for travel. Thanks for bringing that up.
Thanks for the review. How is it holding up 6 months later please?

Haven't used it a ton but still happy with it!
how is when driving. in terms of wind getting underneath?
How does this hold up on the highway? I would imagine a ton of wind resistance from the loose fitting cover. Anything on that?

I haven't tested this over long periods on the highway but I would definitely strap it down as much as possible at the bottom of the cover.
So how do you go about making your rear car plate number visible when you have this bike cover on?
@EbikeEscape

I've seen some people come up with hanging it somehow (magnetic solutions or somehow pinning it to the cover) but even without the cover our license plate isn't visible. I personally don't worry too much about it.
I’m stuck between the lmt’d and the rad rover 5.. Its my desire for torque sensor vs my desire to be able to upgrade later.

I don't necessarily view the torque sensor as an upgrade. It more is about personal preference. Though the cadence sensor obviously is less sophisticated.
I may have missed it. Can you confirm? It is water proof?

Yes, they say it is waterproof though I haven't put it to the test just yet. The fabric does seem to be high quality.
Hollywood racks strongly discourages using bike covers on their racks. They are not designed to take the high amount of drag caused by airflow at road speeds.
Strange so many bike covers are black…white would usually give a cover longer life.

Good point!
Hi does it matter if your wheels get exposed if you cover your bike. Because I worry about rust
@EbikeEscape
Жыл бұрын
We do not think so. But another decent option for you is to could coat the surfaces with wd40 or some other oily coating to prevent rust….. just don’t spray on braking surfaces.
Does the other side of the cover, that is against the car in your video, also have their logo? I'm not sure that it's a wise move to advertise that a "Pro Bike" is under the cover. 😉

Good point, I believe it does. We lock them up with high quality locks if we ever leave them.
The product is marketed as suitable for hitch mounted transport.

While I don't doubt the cover during transport if it is behind a vehicle there is the safety/legal concern of being able to see rear lights on the vehicle.
Curious, has anyone considered that this seems to block the tail lights? Is that legal?
@EbikeEscape

You can opt to put an external light on the rack which is what we did. But yes, check local laws and regulations.

And while you're at it, how safe can it be when you can't even see out your rear view mirror and back window with the cover blocking view from inside the vehicle?

@@j.g.9655 Yeah you're right. I guess that's all we need to be able to see clearly. Wonder why all the vehicles ever produced over the last 100 years still make the rear-view mirrors?

@@johndudley2347 I think side mirrors are just a minimum... it’s obviously better to have a rearview mirror also..
It will not protect your bike from dirty coming from the rear tires

Good point, we will see how dirty they get on our upcoming trip.
I'm very leary of ANYONE who makes a product endorsement, yet does NOT state that he wasn't compensated to make the review.

Typically products featured on the channel are ones that I have either bought myself or I have reached out to a company asking if they are willing to send me something to check out. Besides sending the cover, Pro Bike Tool tool had no influence on whether I actually did a video. Just looking to help out others looking for quality made products.

So don't buy the cover then. lol
All the road grime would just swirl up underneath the cover doesn’t serve much purpose. Not good for long trips that’s for sure.
@EbikeEscape

But it will protect from rain. Main concern of mine is the connection points, terminals and the display. I like to keep them covered on long trips. Of course the bikes underneath will still get a bit dirty but at least the electrical components are covered.
That fits terrible! Not what I expected as I was about to order one.
