If your cover crops need sun light and your crops need the nitrogen then this is a spacing issue. Spacing on the other hand effect yield. Balance and priorities.

What was the herbicide program on this corn that allows for the covers to not die?

If the limiting factor is sun, if you open the rows just a little bit, but more importantly, plant the corn rows running east and west, the sun maybe able to reach between the rows at a better angle. The rows look like the are running north south according to the gentleman’s shadow.

Excellent. When will you plant peas WITH the corn? as companions.

interesting video, I wonder if the corn variety would factor into the success of inter-seeding cover crops? Would a short hybrid with upright leaves be more successful? I planted some corn 7' tall next to some 12' tall and noticed more small late season weeds in the short corn.

Weed absence in cover crop areas: Testing cover crop plant roots for Mycorrhizae fungi could be telling - it colonizes most covers but many weed species it does not. Could be mobilizing P to covers at disadvantage of potential weeds.

Looks like they need to inter seed earlier than they did.

Penn State mix is impressive. I don't see how you can consider it viable when only a quarter to a third of the species are present even then the plant spacing is one plant per 2to 3 feet.
