I have been sober for 15 years. This is a stark reminder of where I was in the beginning and why I never want to go back.

Whether one likes Tom MacDonald or not, the reaction to this Independent artist should tell recording executives that the general public wants truth, story telling and real music about real life. People relate. They aren't alone with Tom MacDonald.

The fight is hard but knowing others get what you are going through.And having someone to lookup to that has come out the other side all the better for it, letting us know it is possible to overcome. People know we have patreon and all that other stuff. But for our Commentaries we try to focus on having an engaging discussion about the topics raised in the videos. We really enjoy breaking and discussing how the video relates to us.

This one is hard and encouraging at the same time. As you continue through his music, you'll hear his whole journey through mental health and addiction. For a lot of us, Tom's music is a massive part of the journey to sobriety. If you want an emotional read, when you get to his song Sober, read the comments on the video. Tom literally changes lives with his music. I also think, when you understand his journey, you understand the passion and anger in his songs toward the music industry and those in power as a whole.

This song is amazing. I quit my pill addiction cold turkey 13 years ago and it almost killed me. But it was so worth it!

I'm so glad our guy Tom has an outlet and he throws himself into his music! @/hog forever and a day! Riding with Tom till the wheels fall off and then we walk the rest of the way! Thanks for the reaction!

These are the ones that are the hardest to watch/listen to. The ones that talk about real life issues. Withdrawals, Church, Cancer, Sober, Castles, even "I Don't Care" to a degree since Tom is letting us all in to experience his pain and help us with ours. It's a rollercoaster to watch Tom come out with new videos. He hits you with the silly, hits you with the politics, hits you with the fire, then he drops the real when you're already locked in and can't turn it off. It's a shame people judge this book by it's cover without reading the story.

The message is strong and clear and my heart wrings itself at its strength and beauty. But every time Tom exposes his soul the haters come out strong. And Tom comes back angrier and bigger and better.

This is the most brave thing I've ever witnessed. I am terrified of letting my mind go over my own experience because it might drag me back to that place. I can see and feel that this DID take Tom right back to when he was going through the things he's expressing here. As Shaq says, "That's TOUGH!".

Great reaction, as always. Tom is very open about the breakdown he had in 2016. Quitting his last vice, cigarettes, right now probably brought up a lot of those emotions, which is likely what prompted this song. He says all the time that his music is his therapy. There are a couple of episodes of Before They Were Famous about Tom, and Officer Tatum did a good interview a couple of months ago if you want to hear some more information about his story. As you continue your journey from the beginning you'll find more songs like this one.

Things we addicts don't always tell the world and he went off telling the world what it's really like....I'm 14 years clean and when getting clean I didn't want a lot of people know what I truly was going through... Yes there are consequences. My cousin just lost his son to a drug overdose and I just lost a close family friend to a drug overdose. If anyone is going through this, please know that there are people out here who are willing to help you. Don't give up, because you deserve so much better than what your addiction gives you.

Oh yeah no doubt, it was one of Tom's songs in the past that made me stop chugging a fifth of Jack Daniels every single day. I'm now down to just a few beers every few days or more. Used to be addicted to Meth and smoked weed non stop daily. But I quit all that before I found Tom's music, but now it's helping me with alcohol problems.

I made it through withdrawals from pain meds, after multiple failed attempts of getting all the way through it. The experience is miserable, but thankfully I eventually built up enough mental determination to get all the way through it. Haven't looked back since. Unlike most, I don't feel addicted to it anymore. I have no craving for it.

I'm new here from the HOG Fam! I like your videos keep it up
