And still continues too for all generations! I have been huge LP fan since day one! They have helped me through so much and now 14 yr old is also a huge fan. I had gotten tickets to take him to see them a month after he passed away, which meant the world to me to share that with him and now I never will have that chance. I took my oldest son years ago to see LP for his first concert. At least the blessing of his voice and LP music continues to live on and help people through the good and hard moments of life.

Your wife is sweet. As a LP fan an mostly Chesters, Im still sad. Sad that he struggled his whole life. Bad childhood. He had " trauma" fr like 9-13 by a older male friend. Then got on drugs prob to cope with it. His Mom got him off an he bagan to sing an helpef form his first band "Grey Daze" . You should see him back then. On KZread. Long hair. Then it wasnt makin it an he quit. But a manager told him about a band Zero needed a singer. They sent him demos. He recorded all of them on his bday an sent back. They called. He went to LA fr Ariz an auditioned an immediately got it. They then named band Hybrid Theory but then had to chg to Linkin Park. But alcohol became his demon. Rehab in 2006 (?). Then divorced first wife Samantha who he had Dravin with in 2004-5. Met Talinda an remarried in 2005. Suicide attemp in 2006 then the rehab. So he fought it his whole life. This song Mike wrote because of Chester. Chester had said this one was the most personal for him.

This is one of favorite Linkin Park song, when you listen to the lyrics carefully it's so sad. And also the rhyme of this song connect to the other Linkin Park song Numb and that's my other favorite too from there second album Meteora. When Chester died, every time a listen to those songs that so meaningful, sadly it makes me cry. Love LP ❤🤘

guys im glad I subscribed to your channel since you have great video reactions for rock songs you like to get understand the concept of and dig the sound the songs have and we all could agree that Chester Bennington had the voice that brought emotion to life there was nothing that sounded just like him before he started his career Chester Bennington took his singing to a whole new level and sang by showing he had pain deep down inside himself he wrote these songs so he could help anyone out there in the world stuck in the middle of their life having to deal with agony also he influenced people who listen to his music to become a better version of themselves that way the people who are listening to linkin park find out they're truly strong and could search for a weapon to conquer their worst fears if that makes sense

2720th subscriber! Your wife, Tasha, nailed that saying by “mental illness and depression have no certain look or package.” It’s so true, I live with it as many others to include Chester. If you’re going to keep in truckin’ with LP reaction videos, have your wife do her perspective on the lyrics more so the video content. I am older (40) and have been a long time LP fan and still grieving the loss of Chester. I find Tasha’s thoughts are pure, honest and spot on. I can’t see the music that way because I get emotional or because I’ve listened to LP since Hybrid Theory. Another person commented with starting with the earlier LP songs and move to the newer ones, I recommend that too.

I went to the live in texas show. It was absolutely the best concert I have ever been to. The energy these guys give during the show is incredible. I had so much fun that my whole body ached for like a week just from jumping around and in the mosh pit. I wish I still had my camera with all my pics on it I have one up close with Rob, Chester, and Brad. It's to bad cell phones weren't as advanced then as they are now. When they played A Place for my head, and Chester does the "YOU tried to take the best of me, go away" part... Dude it was badass when everyone started whispering go away and then screaming it and jumping around. I can remember that day down to every moment. So glad I went back then especially now that we don't have chester anymore I was at least able to meet and see him perform once.

@@TheAdventuresofTNT awww. It's crazy how music can make a person feel. It's incredibly awesome when you're in a place surrounded by people and listening to the same music and everyone is just enjoying it and getting hyped up all together. No fights, no political, no religious, no gender, no racial arguing... None of that and it's just a huge group of people in awe of music smiling and singing together.😎🤘🤗🤗🤗 Linkin park also has a deeper meaning to me cause my daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012 right before her 6th bday. She had linkin park on loop during her radiation treatments and chemotherapy. It helped her not to think about cancer or chemo. She would always show the nurses and Dr a linkin park video or song 😆. She said this song "Crawling" and "Shadow of the day" reminds her of the cancer and how chemo makes her body feel at times. But if you listen to the lyrics of Shadow of the day it's extremely emotional that just pulls on your heart cause the song is almost like giving up on everything and saying goodbye. Ugh 😭😭 So not only did linkin park help me as a teenager they've also been admired by my own daughter. It's to bad I won't get the chance to take her to see them in concert. 😔 Lol I'm sorry for typing out a novel on here. So random, I don't normally post stuff like this. But anyways I hope y'all enjoy the other LP songs. 🤘🤘

First of all RIP Chester Bennington 😔 This song is said to have a special meaning to Chester especially, since its lyrical content is based on his own life experiences. And due to such, he reportedly got emotional when he was called upon to perform “Crawling” live. While listening to Linkin Park’s “Crawling”, it becomes obvious that the narrator is dealing with a serious situation. The lyrics read as if he is inflicted with some sort of internal dilemma. And this dilemma ultimately results in “too much pressure”, ‘confusion’, ‘insecurity’ and other unfavorable conditions. But what exactly serves as the source of these issues is open to the interpretation. This song manifests that nasty feeling that something is crawling under your skin. Much of the lyric delivered by Chester Bennington deals with the side effects of taking methamphetamines - a drug he used throughout his teens. The anxiety, hallucinations and a feeling of things crawling under his skin. The song, though, can apply to anyone feeling uncomfortable and helpless. In the video, the girl (played by Katelyn Rosaasen) is physically abused by her father. At the beginning, we can see all her bruises. Many of the lyrics demonstrate how hard it is to break the cycle of abuse ("These wounds, they will not heal" and "It's haunting, how I can't seem to find myself again, my walls are closing in"), and how self-confidence is crushed. The blue crystal background closes in on her at the beginning of the first chorus - this shows an emotional shell that she has built around her. The thick make-up is like a mask, trying to hide what's going on inside. The septum ring is designed to link with Chester's lip ring. When the girl walks away from her boyfriend, it's because she's too scared to get close to people. This is also true for the high school bathroom scene. When Chester sings, "Against my will I stand beside my own reflection," he and Katelyn are looking at each other. She looks like she wants to get out of the shell she's in. She also sees painful memories from her past in the crystal. When the second chorus starts, the crystal begins to break and chunks of it are flying about - this is her shell falling down. It represents her father's departure, as does her smiling at the end with the roses in the vase. She's not wearing the thick make-up because she doesn't feel like she needs the protection of a mask - she's got nothing to hide from.

I love the opening kick in the teeth with this song, as well as Chester's mellow tone on the verses. Shinoda's raps are low key, not in your face, and for me, that's where he's at his best. The band is tight and the crunch and bass heavy rhythms are accentuated by the melodic atmospheres created by the keyboards. The lyrics are very moving. A Perfect Song. Cheers! Peace!

The difference between a woman and a man watching this video is so accurate NOT that this chap or most men are bad. Need to be clear there. Just women have a different connection to the girl in the video.

Idk how you two view LGBTQ viewpoints, but even tho this song may not have anything to do with LGBTQ, I sort of connect this song and video especially, with someone living as Transgender and the attempt to continue with the facade being “trapped inside the wrong body” “Crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal.” “Confusing what is real” “ There’s something inside me that pulls beneath the surface.” Against my will I stand beside my own reflection, (as Chester looks at HER as his own reflection in the mirror) “ It’s haunting, how I can’t seem, to find myself again.” To me this song would be the perfect Transgender anthem.

We believe that everyone should live their truth no matter what they consider themselves. I think you are correct with your analysis.

Honest question, why do black people or men in general see crying as a weakness? I couldn't watch a single LP song after Chester's death without tearing up. It's called empathy. It's called being a human.

I notice this too with not only black men, but most men are taught not to cry. It's just how we are conditioned.
