Dave & Ash, I love your reactions and your humor! Back in the day, they were true musicians! It sounds cliche' but the artists actually had talent! They all did, competing for sales and airtime on the radio against other talented individuals, groups and bands. That's how you get 'iconic' musical decades like the 70's and 80's - music that's still being listened to and loved 40 and 50 years later!

You 2 should give a listen to Mother Father by Journey at the same concert . Steve always said that Mother Father is the hardest song he sang . Didn't sound too hard . According to Steve , he sings the whole song in his upper range . The 2 guitar solos during the songs allowed him to have a break . This concert was recorded for their live album and was even aired live on the radio . Back in the days of recording music on cassettes .

Also, A fact to consider as this gets lost on most fans but Neal Schon really is Journey, founder, lead guitarist, musical director, the only continuous member, as he has carefully crafted their sound through many eras and personnel changes. No doubt the Steve Perry era was best but he soldiered on after Steve left with a series of singers that covered Perry's songs and helped keep the band alive to this very day. Lastly, don't forget Greg Rollie, Hall of Fame singer/keyboard player from Santana, helped found the band and was their lead vocalist before Steve and did great harmonies with Steve for a few albums before leaving. Those early 3 albums with Greg as primary vocalist are hard rock - prog rock classics, Neal really shows you how great a player he is, those albums are full of bangers for those who want to take a chance. Great stuff, enjoy!

He said that means they like you. The funny thing is, they did, but were afraid to admit it to their friends. Steve "Jonesy" Jones of the Sex Pistols was a big fan, but was afraid of getting his a$$ kicked if anyone found out. He told Perry all about it when he interviewed him for Jonesy's Jukebox, and poured out his heart about how he saved his life with his music when he was going cold turkey off heroin and alcohol.

Not sure if you knew this, but at 16 Neal Schon was a guitar player in Santana plus Greg Rolie was the keyboard player in Santa a who left to form Journey along with Aynsley Dunbar, Ross Valory, and George Tickner. The lineup you see here is the most popular and most successful with the exception of Greg Rolie who left after the Departure album. Not a lot of people know about or have really the first 3 Journey albums, but when Evolution and Infinity came out Steve Perry, it was clear, they were going to be big! My first Journey album was Departure and then the Escape album was released and I think there were 4 maybe 5 songs from that were huge hits! Frontiers and Raised On Radio were both great! Please react to more, thank you!

Over here if you need to get rid of 2 couches quickly... Just put them out on the curb, they will disappear before you get back to your apartment.

Re: tank tops... they're collectors items now, and thus well beyond the price range of normal folks (@Ash...about as far away as North Zimbabwe from the southern point of South Africa...)
