They are so stupid!!! They have a 1.2M home and deposited over 3 million dollars in the bank why the heck would they defraud the gov for $100k worth of benefits when they have all that money? I just don't get it. Some people let greed get way over their head.

Sometimes thieves don't do it for the money, it's the thrill they love. That just tells you that there's a lot of thievery going on in the welfare system. It's because they pay someone at the office for the paperwork and it gets through.

You’d be surprised . There isn’t fraud amongst the recipients if the help. The fraud that is committed is usually done by people who are contracted with the debt of welfare as “ providers of care,” like a grocer that will accept food stamps in exchange for cigarettes or booze .

I would make them pay back 10 times with interest. How in the hell could they get assistance? If the people working at the food stamp office first thing they ask is what year model vehicle you drive. plus its already in the system.

I blame the government for not doing a better job checking backgrounds. Fraud has been going on for years and yet the government takes their word that they are in need!!!! I’ve known people to get food stamps except they didn’t want to work full time and were able body to do so. They should have never been given any assistance and told to find work!

As a punishment, how about take their money away amd give it to people who ACTUALLY need it.

Just seems like the state is guilty of not confirming that people qualify for benefits!!!! How does that happen?

so the government should put the mansion and the yacht for sale and divide the money in every for the states that they defraud

I remember working in the slaughterhouse they got their raises every time with extra and the white guys like me had to threaten a mass walkout for them to give us basic raises they already fucking promised and if your a white girl there don’t even bother threatening to walk they don’t even think your relevant to anything

Yeah I'm on welfare and let me tell you I'm disabled with two kids. Chronic pain every day the rest of my living days. We get $154.00 a month in food, we never make it to the end of the month, my family isn't taking any food out your kids mouths, but people like this piss me off!

Im in chronic pain at 32 years old because at 26 I woke up one day feeling pain so severe in back and legs I wanted to kill myself and now years later Im finding out i have a spine disease, sciatica, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, bulging discs, I have chronic headaches daily because my body is failing me in a place there is no progressive cures or solutions. The spine cannot repair itself, and no Im not obese I was very healthy up until 3 years ago I gained weight from medications. But still look healthy on the outside. I was just homeless with my kids for over 5 months and had everything stolen from me. Years of having nothing and then building up slowly just to have it all taken by ungrateful drug addicted losers. I hate being poor because it forces me to be among the worst of the worst in hard times because the government cares more about people in other countries than here in America. Im not poor by choice god only knows if I could be able to not get headaches and have the pain I do just from everyday life. You have no idea what life is like for people like me, though in all my years the poor are drug addicted or alcoholics that have no responsible bone in their body, bad parenting, life circumstances all the different people still greedy, using sinners. Karma is real I can't wait for mine since becoming sick I can't imagine living like this everyday. Just moved to Iowa and I didn't know this but its got huge opioid epidemic and heroin guess no place is safe because I can't get a Dr to take over my meds, which compared to most is very low, but they don't care here. Nobody anywhere does its life and how it goes.

UPDATE!!! They got caught. He did 21 months in prison and she did 8 months. They were fined and ordered to pay restitution.

It sounds like the so called Royal Family in England.

My ex is a major scammer. He was turned in and the investigators just patted him on the head and told him to stop. They told him to lay low for a year then they would close his case whereafter he could go back to his scans. Tax fraud, food stamp, disability.... Most investigators don't want to do their job.

That’s sad .. my daughter in-law has had gran mail seizures for 10 years and was denied disability . they live with me so I can help them. They have a son , Also. My son works but make low wages . I’m grateful they have Medicaid . I’m 68 y.o. and still work to help them . They are my family and I do it out of love and concern for my grandson to live in a safe , stable house . I’m grateful for my light duty job, too. work has therapeutic value because you contribute something of yourself . those con artist should be compelled to work .

This makes me sick I'm a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor and on disability here in Hamilton Ontario Canada

How did these two get away in the first place? Doesn't welfare check out their story and check their bank accounts? So I can easily go to welfare and tell them lies an get money off them?

I have worked as a clerk for convenience stores most of my life, and I can't even count the times that people have come in and asked me if we accept food stamps. When I tell them no, they just pay with a platinum credit card, or pull out a wad of 100 dollar bills. Then they leave in a Corvette, or new Dodge sports car, etc.

They are disgusting. Taking money from people who actually do need it.

I'm not for these people and there gping to get caught but these Governor's, politicians do the same damn thing and worse. They should look in there life also. If they can find an honest person to do it.

My neighbor was convicted of second degree welfare fraud in Washington state, went to prison, no more benefits!!! So, she moved to Idaho, a whole lot smarter (jail teaches ) and gets benefits here. Her husband (so she says) has been with her through it all, and today, LIVES WITH HER, WHILE "WE" PAY FOR, RENT, MEDICAL, FOOD STAMPS AND MORE!!!! BETTER STOP IT NOW BEFORE IT'S GONE TOO FAR, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY!

@Andrea Stevens "Turning them in" isnt the answer! Stop throwing money at everyone!!!Properly qualifying recipients and enforcing the laws would be a start. I never said if I turned them in or not, that is not a solution though.

I hope they get caught. What a sham... They should freeze their accounts. I bet their on some remote Island but I do hope someone turns them in.

Very true . The formal / professional name of the program isn’t “ Welfare ,” rather it’s called Aide to Families with Dependent Children, also called AFDC.

The biggest criminals in the world has always been rich people.

What's the point of stealing if your already rich? I don't get it, not only that but I'd expect more from aristocrats.

No mention of corporate fraudsters living high off the hog, equally if not more so despicable. Like Amazon paying no federal corporate income taxes a few years ago AND getting a $129 refund. Imagine that.

It is the welfare system that they need to investigate.

That's why I always say that anyone who is receiving, "public assistant, food stamp or any kind of financial help, should be investigated thoroughly. I mean really, look at this situation.

Their benefits might have been granted because it was an “ inside “ job. Perhaps they bribed someone that worked at the welfare office ?

This doesn’t happen very often , these king and Queen of welfare . It unfortunately hurts the reputation of people who receive benefits because they are in tremendous need . They should be put to work to pay back the money , like work at a homeless shelter and do laundry and clean the kitchen , etc. I’ve been a school nurse at Head Start and witnessed families in need and there is nothing glamorous about it . This couple is disgusting.
