I kinda learned this by accident a few years ago when noodling around with "Lion Sleeps Tonight", but your explanatory breakdown showed me a little something I was missing, the alternating bassline. Got it now! Another fantastic lesson! (I watch all of them, but very rarely comment)

Sitting in silence with just my thumb going up and down on the strings, it was an amazing upgrade to my country skills too.

Cool, I'm practicing it on a concert but it's got a low g so it should be fine anyway, except the palm muting later on perhaps.

The groove sounds great without the palm muting and it even grooves on a high G too. Low G sounds great, the groove sounds great. Enjoy it and experiment with different genres.
