The Country Gentlemen @ Birchmere Shirlington VA 8-17-78 - Audio only -
This is considered to be the second generation of The Gentlemen but with a 1st generation member John Duffey to help out in the last set.
This group here consists of:
Charlie Waller on Guitar
James Bailey on Banjo
Doyle Lawson on Mandolin
Bill Yates on Bass
Ricky Skaggs on Fiddle
Jerry Douglas on Dobro
John Duffey on mandolin
Recorded on a portable Sony Cassette deck with a pair of Shure vocal mics.
There was so much rumble and noise and talking on the recording that this tape was un-listenable until recent digital technology.

That is James Bailey on Banjo, not Bill Emerson.

@Keith Edwards Yes sir & he's leaving a trail of fire, smoke & embers in the wake of those 5 strings!!!!!!! The Country Gentlemen had many great banjo players, but in my opinion, he was the best!!!!!!! His right hand had the drive of a jet engine!!!!!!!
Doyle Lawson on mandolin, not Brian.
