    I always thought it comes down to executing your own build order properly but now I'm not surprised that it obviously is about scouting and making the right decisions accordingly. This series is awesome! The clarity is top notch as always.

    I think this was a good video for my development as a gamer. I actually changed from doing a song 2tc this morning vs hre to rushing castle and secured all 5 relics. The opponent surrendered at 8:50 after I killed his prelate carrying the last relic home and yoinked it back. Prior to this I would have just thought “good he’s going fc I will have no pressure going 2tc”.

    Well done. It is important to note that giving up all relics to HRE gives them enough time to go Swabia (+3tc equivalent) and then your 2nd TC is instantly matched + insane relic gold income :)

    true dude I also main Chinese and I feel like Chinese 1TC going Castle is the most flexible strategy especially at my level skill, around Diamond or Platinum. The problem of 2TC is that you get killed by those who could really rush castle, such as HRE and if you are dragged into the constant fight in fedual you kind of die due to farm transition later on. Also Chinese 1 TC going castle is sometimes more unfamilliar to your opponents so you gain some advantage maybe?

    Following the latest Delhi Guide on my channel is the best thing you can do - basically, never stop making units (put scholars inside feudal production (1 archery range and 1 stable with scholar)) and then do as much damage as possible and outmicro. Zhu Xi Legacy is very overtuned right now, so do not feel bad if you can't defeat them.

    So as japanese i should always go 2nd tc into (a bit delayed) castle vs booming civs? Then the eco would not be an issue at all. It is just important to switch to production vs aggression, so reactive gameplay and im done... Right?

    I really enjoy doing Fast Castle with Japanese into _Mounted Samurai_ into/or _mass Samurai and Siege_ . It is also important to not view different civs as civs that "does one thing well" and then assume they will do that, as civ bonuses do not decide the playstyle. :) Whether you play reactive or active is entirely dependent on the amount of initiative you take. (e.g. the horsemen in feudal in the video :)

    Is there another way to counter FC next to just mirroring the strategy of your opponent? Maybe harassing gold villagers and preventing age up? Might be difficult with a tower on gold but maybe with mass zhu get nu and rams would be possible.

  • @Valdemar1902

    @Valdemar1902

    5 ай бұрын

    Harassing gold vills is naturally a job for your early horsemen if they do not have a tower or spearmen :) If you go all in feudal, that is also something that can work, but better players can counter it!

  • @UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana

    @UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana

    He wasn't perfectly mirroring the opponent. His fast castle was slightly slower than his opponent's. This is important as it means his build order was more efficient, with more production buildings, disruption to the enemy, development with infrastructure and techs, and resources gathered (because he did not move from resource to resource to get just enough for Castle 🏰🏯 Age). Honestly, I feel like the meta might end up with Early Castle Age only being good for countering your opponent's Earlier Castle Age. As the player who ages up last is at an advantage most of the time, as they can hold the enemy's attacks and has a more efficient build for the late game. Thus, resulting in meta players going for long Feudal instead, as they both try and be the last to age up, until they run out of other major things spend their resources on.

    I understand that semi-fc (with a few units in aggression) seems to be the only way (with the vast majority of civs) to beat a fc. If so, there would be a problem there.

    This isn't clear for me. You counter FC with your own FC? How does that make sense? If you both FC, how come you have map control and get relics? Can't you say that your opponent's FC is countering your FC just as much as the other way around? Seems like it's just two ppl going FC into each other, and you win because you're the better player, but it's really not clear to me why you win here, or how this is about countering FC... :/ Should I just always FC because the only counter to it is a mirror FC?

    I talk about how harass with horsemen is the key here when both players FC. Scouting and going for the right counter units make a decisive difference. And yes, the better player wins, but I would not be winning if I went to Castle naked or any other feudal strat.
