Could Wrestlemania 43 Return to Detroit? Interview with Steve Morand of Greatest Wresting Collection

There are all sorts of rumors about a possible return to Detroit for the WWE’s Wrestle Mania 43 in 2027. It would mark 40 years since the record-breaking WrestleMania 3 in 1987 at the Pontiac Silverdome, and twenty years since WrestleMania 23 at Ford Field. Like I said, they are just rumors and probably just wishful thinking by some folks.
I thought the man to ask about it would have to be Steve Morand, proprietor of the Greatest Wrestling Collection based right here in the “Nitty, Gritty, Motor City”, as Steve would say.
While I think he might know more than he’s leading on, he didn’t give away too many details, but he did show off some of his really cool wrestling memorabilia from the WrestleMania shows that took place here. From the cummerbund The Mouth Of The South, Jimmy Hart wore, to framed pictures, official seats, and more.
We talked about the role Stone Cold Steve Austin took in WrestleMania 23 with the Hair vs. Hair match with Vince MacMahon and Donald Trump years before he became president.
Steve gave us a mini tour of the museum and gave up some breaking news about a possible public locale that’s coming soon. That’s where he’d open up some of his collection for the fans to see in person. “Coming to Monroe, Michigan, be ready very soon.” There’s a little heads-up.
But getting back to WrestleMania, it’s a ways away, but how sweet would it be for the WWE to return to Detroit? That would be an awesome way to honor that historic show from 1987, and even 2007.
Thanks for the information and the tour, Steve. As we recorded this we’ll be at the Insane Wrestling Revolution event tonight. If you can’t make it, or you’re seeing this too late, check out their site and get to a show.
