We need trouba on our team, we need guys to protect the gunners we are gonna have, trouba instills a fear to skate with your head down which is vital to the mentality of a player trying to bust down the wing against him, Trouba will change the way we wanna play and will help give the younger players more room to skate and do their thing. Trouba solves a lot more problems then you see on the scoresheet

Similar to Petry, .Trouba is a shell of what he used to be. Why else would NYR so desperately want to trade a guy they were so excited to get yet now, suddenly want him off their books? Ive spoken to Rangers fans and they want him gone saying his game has tapered off severely.

You can't judge the speed of this rebuild without taking into account the draft lottery. We bottomed out at the worst time for a team to do so. The odds were stacked against the worst team getting a top pick. Chicago, San Jose, Buffalo, New Jersey, Toronto, Anaheim.. they ALL got top 3 picks by the bunches. Detroit got pushed back every year, never moving up a single spot in the draft. The highest we picked was 4th. It's a lot harder and takes a lot longer when you don't get the benefit every other team gets. You watch, the Pens will draft Gavin McKenna in 2026 and have a near immediate turnaround. It's BS.

Why would we go through all that work to avoid paying Hronek what he's worth, to turn around and go after Trouba? We're fine with the Defenseman we have. Better team defense means Copp off the team, or at least playing on the wing instead.

Matta has actually been pretty consistent as a D-man.

Do you think Yzerman loaded up on Goalie’s. Because, he wanted to trade a Goalie in the Mitch Marner, deal that never happened, yet? Make no mistake, the rebuild is not over. On top of that, dont be looking at bringing in all these veterans and then complain the kids arent seeing enough playing time or get enough opportunities. We were on the cusp of the playoffs last year. There's nothing saying that edvinsson coming in along with a couple other younger pieces to round out the roster with the veterans theyve already signed. We have talent, i personally want to see more out of the coaching staff. The slow starts, the defensive strategies, etc. They all left much to be desired. It also seemed like they over corrected if something went stale then the brown stuff hit the fan.

Trouba is not a defensive defenseman that digs Parks out of corners. That's why New York wants to rid of him they have too many offensive defenseman and they're shedding them. Don't expect him to be the dig in the corners guy, he's the offense dude.

It's a combination of Holland and the worst draft lottery luck in the history of draft lotteries. Seriously, the Wings never got a top 3 pick and typically, got pushed back 2-3 spots. It's hard to build a core when you can't draft the high end talent.

With 4-6 guy’s who can score over 30 goals now, Talbot and Husso as 1A 1B is very very solid, 3 defensive minded Centers who all had good FO #s last year. Sprong,Fabs,Ghost…( the puck watchers) are gone. It’s like you didn’t watch a game last year and haven’t payed any attention to FAs and I haven’t even mentioned any of our young prospects.

@gzimothegreatsheepdog8226 I think it's obvious that Yzerman doesn't expect Husso to bounce back from his injuries and regain his forum. That's the reason he signed Talbot, who was on a very good defensive team last year, which padded his stats. I consider Copp and Compher to be mediocre at best. I've seen several rankings done lately, and they all have the Wings finishing lower than 20th.

Rankings? Lately? How did last years preseason rankings work out for teams like the Devils,Wild? I do the work myself I don’t consider armchair opinions from random publications. We were 8th in scoring last year in a league that takes half the teams to the playoffs, and had our Captain miss 14 games and half the team got the flu after he got hurt that led to the 7 game losing streak. We missed the Playoffs last year by a razor thin margin even with everything that went wrong, and to say we couldn’t possibly be better after all that we have done is not fair in my opinion.

Why does everyone think trouba is like gold
