  Yeah it's safe to say... we're so not here bro. Cheers to another lost season :( gonna get league pass to watch a different team at this point. I don't think people realize that just because you hired this dude doesn't mean Ausar will magically shoot 34% which isn't even league average but that's the reality of the situation.   The same Goff's contract is going to be a bargain based on how the QB market is and will continue to rise, the Daniel Jones contract looks better and better as time goes on. I'm a Lions die hard fan since Barry Sanders, but Danny Dimes is in a shitty organization with a bad oline and no weapons on the outside and now no RB. That guy is going to get blitzed every play to no fault of his own so he deserves every dollar of that contract cause the Giants front office is s.

  Matt Stafford likes to play “hero ball”, he will opt out of an OC play call to rely on his “arm talent”, a Dan Marino mentality. A good OC sets up their punch. Goff runs the play call and understands why the OC makes a play call. An example is last year’s Chargers game. Goff beat Herbert, who is just a clone of Stafford.

  Speaking strickly on the money, not on the players, Trevor Lawrence will be making a lower % of his teams cap vs Goff if we assume the cap increases 10% or more per year, over the course of their contracts.

  Extension means it takes effect next year, if the cap is 255 this year then at 10% it will increase to: 280.5m/308.5m/339.4m/373.3m/410.6m The net cap % for Goffs contract would be 212m/1307m Or 16.3%. TL gets 275/1717, or 16.0%. But that's assuming at least 10% growth and that TL doesnt ask for more in year 4 when hes the 14th highest paid QB. I'd still take goffs deal tbh.

  Y’all thinking about this too much, the writing is on the wall. Last week they said they were evaluating Monty. Out of that evaluation they hired a shooting coach guru to his coaching staff. It should be simple to understand that he survived the evaluations and the result was they needed to be better at shooting. 🤷🏾‍♂️

  I appreciate that contracts increase as time goes by, but how comes we’re paying more for Jared Goff than the Chiefs are for Mahomes, or the Ravens are for Lamar? New to nfl so just curious as to how that can be justified. I like Goff, but he’s not that level is he?

  I’m first a Lions fan but also a Jags fan, having lived in Jacksonville. Goff is more accomplished but Trevor has a much much higher ceiling. My guess is that Jax is paying for projected performance over actual performance. Trevor is tough to read because you can’t really count his first year with the Urban Meyer dumpster fire, last year he played the 2nd half injured and Jax let the best record in the afc slide down the toilet last season. At one point they were 7-2 and had over a 90% chance to make playoffs. I will say the Lions have a much better roster and Goff has played better than Trevor the last 2 seasons. However, I feel if Trevor hits his potential and stays healthy he could ascend into a top 5 QB, on top of that the Jsgs have never had a QB since the 90s so they had to pay him regardless if he hits his potential or not.

  How does Neal say that TA needs to be CB2 out of camp, and that he will not judge him by his first 8 weeks, and all that matters is winning a super bowl? I agree that all that matters is winning the super bowl, but TA can be a back-up weeks 1 through 4 then earn his spot over Robertson and still help the Lions win a super bowl.

  I'm a little surprised we signed k Bates when showing interest late. The best part the packer fans are angry we took another player from them. I also heard a rumor that if the Lions didn't shore up their DE position that they will take for a DE either before the season starts or once the season has started
