the price of gold and silver in fiat currency is 100% irrelevant. all that matters is their purchasing power. i.e. how many ozs for an acre of land, a car, or a month's worth of groceries....

Those are slighlty connected. It's not perfectly proportional, because precious metals don't have as stable supply and demand as other markets. In terms of inflation, the price of an ounce of gold from 1900 would be around 1000 dollars today. However, industrial demand and other things has caused it to be around twice as much. Silver is much closer to matching inflation as a dollar/ounce a hundred years ago was worth between 30 and 40 dollars today market. That's one of the proofs that the price is suppressed by governments.

@@genericdude6551 not true. I bought a 14ft jon boat for a 1/4oz gold eagle. I paid to have my windows re-glazed with a tube of silver eagles. I only leave tips in 90% silver coins. It's up to us to revive gold and silver as currency. The banks wont do it and it's not going to happen magically.

100%? I have debts in fiat currency. If the "value" of precious metals rises in this fiat currency then I can sell and pay off these fiat loans. I can also borrow more fiat when using precious metals as collateral for a loan.

I've been hearing this $5000/oz. prediction for at least five years. I'll believe it when I see it.

I looked at Walmart gold and silver prices and they were charging more than my regular source. I wish I had bought more gold back when I started buying gold at $1000 per ounce. With a gold/silver ratio of 88 I'm going to stick with buying silver instead of gold.

Silver is good, but it won’t become a world standard. Gold may go-up dramatically to equalize government debt. Silver is more of an industrial metal. It may follow the industrial economy (down).

I think it was maybe 2004 or 5. There was a radio ad that said, 'Gold could reach $600 / oz. I'm on My way to work for a 12 hour shift laughing at the radio. Whatever! Then it blew right through it.

If central banks get forced into once again backing fiat with gold 5000 per ounce seems minimal.

HI Mike, just curious why you've mentioned several times that the book "The Great Taking" was written from a conspiracy theory perspective? I found all claims made by the author to be supported by his citations and laws on the books. I guess connecting the current laws on the books that support "the taking" of all collateralized assets may be somewhat conspiratorial but why else would those laws be in place? Thanks for all your great info!

I totally agree with you. Some people get uneasy about conspiratorial viewpoints because of the way that "tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists" are caricatured, ridiculed and ignored (often by design).

Our investment advisor told us we shouldn’t do any gold. We cashed out and now are doing gold for saving purchasing power and will have to educate ourselves on investing before we do it again in the future.

Gold goes up 15% a year, proven track record of last 20 years. If in one or two years it doesn't perform, it will make up for it in the following year or two.

I’m not sure what Mr. Maloney means by “The Great Taking” being written from a conspiracy theory point of view. Mr. Webb wrote that book and showed evidentiary receipts for each of his claims and positions, the very antithesis of “theory”, conspiracy or otherwise.

The goal is to sell the metals at near all time highs and use that currency to buy the next undervalued asset. I’m only in metals as they are extremely undervalued. Once they are overvalued buy the next undervalued asset class.

If you take a strait line from the lows in 1980 till today, that silver line is somewhere around 17 dollars. The 1980 Hunt brother thing was manipulation, and should not be calculated in any figuring of prices, it was an anomaly and nothing else.

Mike, Are you saying you will only buy back metals if you sold it? That has been my concern and also my experience with dealers. Not as universal and liquid when you experience that.

I agree. We need to develop a methodology for measuring the value of gold rather than discussing prices in terms of fiat currency. It's totally irrelevant. I'm surprised Mike talks about gold in this way.

Russia/Putin announced at least a year ago that they (BRICS) will have their own version of COMEX and will be setting the valuation. Somehow the media did not cover it and I’ve seen no one else even mentioning something so YUGE.

Everyone guess in regards to gold price , i don’t think anyone has been correct for years , so i will make a guess = by the end of 2024 gold will be 2, 750 dollars = see you in 12 months.

Most people don’t understand why gold isn’t still 800, or 400. Claiming to know what “remotely” would happen is not an argument.

If you set a computer count 3 "ticks" a second, it would take over ten-thousand years for it to count to 1 trillion.

Gold is $2000 righ now and For gold to reach a value of $4000, its market cap would need to be double. Currently, the market cap is almost $14 trillion, which means that an additional $14 trillion or more would be required to achieve a number like $4000. Nie ważne kto co chce, pomyśl ile przez te 13 lat zostało nadrukowane pustych pieniędzy które zostały wpuszczone do gospodarki światowej. Dom który wybudowałem 11 lat temu dzisiaj jest droższy o 100% czy mój dom w którym mieszkam zmienił się? Nie to pieniądze straciły wartość, ja nie jestem bogatszy. Dlatego złoto również wzrośnie nie wiem kiedy ale wiem że to nastąpi.

The conspiracy side of this subject absolutely does matter, and I’m always flabbergasted that leaders in the industry don’t want to talk about it. Yeah, you can get some gold and maybe last a little longer the your fellow countrymen. But we have serious problems on our hands, and only in identifying the perpetrators of these scams, and of all the conspiracies we’ve been subjected to, will we be able to right the wrongs.
