Cottonwood Burl Bowl Required Three First Aid Treatments
www.AsWoodTurns.com
Salvaged from a friend's burn pile, this cottonwood burl took some TLC and a redesign but not that much TLC. It is well worth the UV resin and CA needed to bring out its beauty.
Size: about 11 diameter and 3 tall. Finished with wipe-on poly.
UV resin: Amazon
CA glue: Almost anywhere
Enjoy.

A diamond in the rough. That is a very pretty piece. Thank you for sharing. See you next week
Nicely done sir. My only addition is that salvaging such a dangerous piece of wood moves this project into an "expert" category. Your club member was probably correct to move it into his burn pile. You, on the other hand, clearly demonstrate that with skill it is possible to turn this type of flawed blank safely.
Great job Alan! Nice to see you again in Portland 😀
Beautiful bowl, Alan! Great save!
Very nice Alan.
Nice job Beautiful Piece Alan and great save!
Nice save!
That was certainly worth the effort. It took a bit of skill on your part to recognize the potential and to achieve success. It sure paid off in this case. Apparently your fellow woodworker felt he didn't have that skill. I hope you were able to educate him. You sure educated me. Thank you for sharing. Oh hell, nag, it works for me.🙂🙂
Really nice, Alan. It was definitely worth saving.
Great save
Nice!
