Just a little reminder, don't let dogs eat conkers or acorns as they are poisonous, I just let my three have a little sniff but don't want to give the impression that it's safe for them, thanks all x
I am a beginner and I am learning so much from your videos. I understand carding now! Thank you😊

Thanks for watching and glad to help x
I'm so glad I've found you!! I tried felting in 2017. I made my Christmas baubles but I found the thought of progressing overwhelming! Anyway I'm trying again and you've helped me understand I will improve with each project. I've introduced my partner to this wonderful craft and we aim to make a display for our wedding at Holmfirth Vineyard next year ❤

Thanks! They are great fun to felt xx
We call them buckeyes in the US. To preserve them, we would let them dry out a few days and then coated them with a clear acrylic spray.

Thank you! Very glad you enjoy them and such different names, conkers and buckeyes x
I love these ideas for felts!!! I don’t know if it’s different in the UK, but in the Western US we say lichen like “lie ken,” the ch making a k sound. Thank you for the great ideas!

Yes, you are right, I looked it up afterwards, makes it easier to pronounce too, thanks for watching xx
Hi Philippe, love these all and gonna make some! Your conkers resemble our Buckeyes and Chestnuts in America!

Thank you, yes, I think that must be what they are called in America, you get one large conker in a case instead of several x
Fabulous makes, I love conkers too. Try putting clear varnish on them to keep them shiny.

Thanks Shamma, I think they are similar to horse chestnuts but not the same, there is only one conker in a shell x

@@feltsbyphilippa thank you, that’s so interesting, they are so beautiful. ❤
Thank you ❤️ I picked some acorn cups up at the ploughing match at the weekend. I knew they would come in handy for something. They are so cute. Pleased you knew about the conkers being poison for dogs. I only saw a warning on Facebook last week. Keep up the good work Philippa you are my inspiration. Xx

I actually really like them all done, glad I had a go x
I had felted all throughout last year almost daily, than I picked up on other crafts and scheduled just one day a week for woolen arts, I have mainly felted gentle flowy fairies and did other fiber arts like finger spinning and more, haven’t done a sculpture felting project in a long time, and I feel like I have hard time gaining my needle confidence back. Any tips? I’d love to make all of this!

You have to really want to needle felt otherwise don't worry, just focus on crafts you do enjoy. Pick something really simple, like the acorns if you do want to try, they take about 15 minutes each. Get a small success first then choose something you really like. If you don't really like that animal say, then you will struggle to finish as it really does take time and patience. I love cows and sheep, maybe it's boring but I love felting them. Get a really good kit maybe, Etsy has lots (definitely carded wool though) and follow the instructions and never worry that it comes out slightly different to the kit, that's normal. Or look at 2d felting, I really enjoyed the change trying it out, hope some of that helps and thanks for watching xx

@@feltsbyphilippa Oh yes! Thank you 🐏 P.S sheep and cows are wonderful, their anatomy is beautiful and their personality is lovely, I can definitely understand why needle felting them feels just as lovely.
Hi Philippa are cookers chestnuts?
@feltsbyphilippa
Жыл бұрын
So yes, similar, you only get a large conker in a shell but horse chestnuts normally have two or three inside nuts inside x
I don’t know where to get acorn cups where I live 😢
