COST OF LIVING IN IRELAND 2023 | How much do we spend in a month?

What is the cost of living in Ireland in 2023? I tried to explain the living expenses in Ireland like rent, food cost, electric bill and broadband/wi-fi. Information provided in this video about costs and expenses is purely based on my experience and it might differ from person to person.
If living in a major city like Dublin is your dream, the cost of living there, as in any major city, will be higher. Rent can start at 800€ and run as high as 2,200€ ! Outside of Dublin, in the lush, green countryside you can pay 450€ or less. Meals when you’re out and about can run you between 11€ and 16€, but this is no mere bowl of soup. For the price, the carvery lunch serves up sliced chunks of juicy meat, cooked veggies, and, the classic staple, potatoes.
It is estimated that a family of four would need approximately 6,000 EUR per month to live comfortably in Ireland. This takes into account the costs of everyday living expenses, transport and housing and allows for disposable income.
Have a nice day everyone and see you next week! We hope you enjoy watching this one as much as we did making it!
Cheers! 🍺

    Hi guys, nothing has changed and I still love watching your videos 😊 I can't help with the moving costs because I was moving to a family that lives here so I had it super easy. But I can tell you something about transporting a dog. Unfortunately, no airline offered transport of a 30 kg dog from Poland. If your dog weighs up to 8kg including the carrier, it should work. Breed of dog is also an important issue. Not all breeds are allowed on airlines, either because they are considered dangerous or because they are brachycephalic (those that can have breathing problems). So my trip looked like this: I drove a car with a friend across Europe (from Poland) to France (I was lucky and was able to stay with friends in Belgium to spend the night and rest). There is a ferry from France (I chose Stena Line) to Ireland. You can buy a place in special dog kennels in a separate room, or a dog-friendly room. I chose the second option because the journey takes about 18 hours and I couldn't imagine that my dog would spend this time alone in kennels. I will add that the journey is not very pleasant. The waves were strong and the ferry itself made disturbing sounds that can be very stressful for a dog. Later, my brother-in-law picked me up and we went to Galway :) For a ferry with a dog-friendly room from Cherbourg (France) to Rosslare (Ireland) I paid around 200-250e in February this year. You can save money by not taking a room, just a free seat and put your dog in a kennel, but it seems to me that for your and your dog's comfort, it's still better to pay the 250e :) As for the documents, a passport was required, with a confirmation of having a microchip, vaccinations against rabies and treatment against tapeworm. But these are things depending on which country you are traveling from (it looks different from EU countries than from outside the EU) and you need to check because it may have changed. Maybe this information will be useful to someone 🙂 I'm waiting for the next videos! ❤

    Hi 👋 Michael 😊 That is a great question… Ireland has parks for mobile homes and camper vans but they are used for short term rentals, predominantly holiday makers!. As far as I’m aware, not a lot of people live in these types of homes full time. 🙂 I love mobile homes, boat houses..etc but If I decided to live in one I’d need to apply for housing permission and that isn’t an easy process. Maybe someone else on our channel might be able to shed some light on this topic for both of us. 🤞😊👀 Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭! 😊🫶

    You should know €43k is before tax. So make sure you have an affordable apartment close to Dublin because 80% of the country's jobs are there and transportation is a big issue here. The country is below western standard of living and rural so do not expect some western lifestyle. Ireland is very expensive but low salaries. Finding a job is a very big issue here. In Drogheda it can take you up to 6 months to find a job unless you dont mind doing cleaning jobs.

    Please consider author's calculations are way off on rent, as currently it would be at least 1000 euros/month for a single person, aim for 1500/month if you want to be sure you'll find anything. Also, basically all low-budget accommodations are already rented by or for Ukrainian refugees. The only __proper__way to come to Ireland outside of EU is to have a CSEP with offer 60k/year or more for a single person.

  • @Corrky

    @Corrky

    Жыл бұрын

    It is not a calculation, it is what I am paying and it’s a fact. As to what would it cost for a single person, prices you are mentioning are for Dublin. A friend just rented a room last week for 450. I’m not saying that’s possible in Dublin but it is also not nearly as bad here.

  • @nouser8146

    @nouser8146

    How much you pay and what a friend rented are not a valid data points. First if all, you are a EU citizen, then you have social connections here, as well as your friend. It is WAY different for anyone coming from outside of EE A/EU with no existing connection in country. I'd say 15k euro for a single-person relocation from the outside is a proper expectation to be set. Of couse, this is on top of CSEP with 60k+ contract. Anything less would be relying on a pure luck and coincidence.
