Since this video seems to be aimed at living on the densely populated Northside of the city, I'd say you can live pretty comfortably without a car. You'd probably save a lot of money taking public transit into work, and taking Uber or Lyft if you need to get groceries or whatever. Even with groceries, a lot of neighborhoods up there are within walking distance of a grocery store. So you can simply stop once or twice a week instead of feeling like you need to stock up.

Do forget City Sticker which is around $100 after fees and State Plate Sticker that is $151 plus fees that you need to divide by 12 to include in your monthly expenses. Oh and of course you need to show proof of a passed emissions test. I would always prefer to get these stickers online to avoid the pleasure of standing in not 1, not 2, but 3 long lines and state/city employees barking orders at you, while looking miserable doing their jobs.

Hey Jordan great video. I am thinking of moving to Chicago from NYC in the near future. My question is which area in Chicago would be best to live without a car, that's not crazy in rent and good access to public transportation? Thanks.

Sorry to hear you pay to park. I have a garage so I park for free. Too bad you guys pay for housing out of your job income. I’ve never really had to take my paycheck and carve out housing cost. I have a 3-bedroom on the south side , yard , patio and garage.

Of course you would say it's not expensive. You an real estate agent, conflict of interest wouldn't you think. It's real expensive to live there even if you were making $20 hrs. Stop trying to deceive ppl and tell the true.

Appreciate your comment. With all due respect, everyone's definition of "expensive" is different. I said in comparison to many other LARGE metropolitan cities, Chicago is relatively affordable. Either way, hope you're well!
