Hi Josie! This is my first time here meeting your video and liking it very much! I live in NY with my family. My hubby and I own a villa in Residencial Hispaniola. We've had it for 10 years and every year we love it more and more. We try to go at least twice in a year. Our daughter is actually getting marry in November in Sosua. We are celebrating her wedding in Residencial Diners Club Restaurant. We are so excited and I'm happy I ran into your videos. I will be watching more. I liked your style and the information you provided. I also love Playero Supermarket. Sosua is a beautiful beach town and that's where my husband and want to retire. My hubby is Dominican and I'm from Puerto Rico. Anyway's I think I'm saying too much, but I'm just happy to have seen your videos. Thanks!

Dear person thinking of moving to DR. All the local food is by NO means organic. Some of the local food maybe organic. The foods the grow in the ground are all sprayed with pesticides of keep her growth of weeds down and those pesticides may not be regulated as they are in North America. In other words those foods may contain more dangers than you’re used to. Maybe yes maybe no, that would require more research. The good news is most of the tree grown fruits are mostly not sprayed so those maybe organic. Don’t think that if you walk into a supermarket here you will be buying organic foods by default. It is a sensational claim. Even if you went to a small local market the same holds true. You would have basically the same limitations on what you could buy thats organic as you would anywhere else. DR is not some magical organic place unless you go off the beaten path and search for the things and trust those from whom you’re buying them.

That's not true. American foods, you can taste the pesticides on everything. Down here, they are definitely using lower amounts or better pesticides.

  • @davecue2

@@tigreactivo517 the pesticides in DR are not all by Monsanto this is true. Most are from China and few know exactly what’s in them. I think they they taste way better too. Also the hot climate, different food varieties and sun right over head adds to the difference.

You can make sure that avocados here are 100% organic. Also coconuts. And many other fruits. Just the ones that are produced in mass aren't. That's my personal experience.

Local products cheaper than USA. What is madera in USA is expensive. We have more variety than USA cause we receiving productos from South america, europe, china, korea, norway. The code fish in DR is from normal not from Alaska is 1 example and so on. Many good products that USA dont allow to go overthere because protecting the american producer. DR has more variety.

Great questions! There are zero visa requirements for living here and foreigners and locals receive equal treatment when it comes to investing in real estate! The buying process is very straight forward and most people find it easier to purchase here then in their own countries. The DR has an average temperate of 27 Celsius. It’s the perfect temperature year round with July-September being around 31 on average. There’s always a pool or the ocean close by to cool off in! I’m happy to answer any further questions you have or hop on a quick call. Josie@realtordr.com
