    We stayed in Lo de Marcos for over a month and I was not enamored with it but we were in our RV and all the RV parks at the beach were full of Canadians so we spent our time at a new park on the NE edge of town. Besides the park being quite expensive and not having hot water or any amenities to mention (toilet seats in the bathrooms would have been quite nice) I got the idea that this town is just turning into another version of Sayulita... Since we are seeing good prices and a more authentic experience in towns with a LOW percentage of gringos we gave it a hard NO after our time there. Now on the other hand, Punta Perula, south of PV was more to our liking! Yep, a bit rustic and lacking in some services (better fill the RV up on gas ahead of time...no gas stations in PP) but we really loved that town and it was quite relaxing for us.

    Larissa thank you for making such great videos. A LOT of work goes into them. For all the "rude" comments below - don't let them get to you. You are there, doing what very, very few would actually do - going on video, doing the work, putting yourself out there - so if they do not agree, then too bad. I really admire you (I am living on Vancouver Island right now and turning 60 in Nov!).

    Lo de Marcos is not on Banderas Bay. I dont know why you refer to it that way. its also not close to the Marietas islands. check your map! we stayed in Lo de Marcos for a week in October 2021. I actually found the accommodations the same to more expensive because there are so few choices. we paid $600 Canadian for 7 nights for a small bungalow. it is a really nice place to have a more laid back and less crowded getaway. I loved the main plaza at night as it was so lively and beautifully illuminated! the ocean was quite calm at the time you were there... when you get into October the surf can be very big and you will see surfers there similar to Sayulita. one day the surf was too big for us to swim and came right up into the streets of the town.

    thats mainly due to the fact that the river there gets blocked into a lagoon by the beach and you dont have the usual muddy water flowing out into the ocean during rainy season like you do in PV.

    San Pancho and Lo de Marcos are nice little towns, but they are no longer undiscovered; not as economical as they once were. These smaller beach towns are very nice - ideal to be a bit off the beaten track.

    With the Canadian dollar around 12.50 per peso, Mexico has become one of the most expensive places to visit for Canadians

  • @OfftoMexico11

    @OfftoMexico11

    I just returned from Puerto Vallarta 3 days ago...you are correct, Mexico has become quite expensive compared to a couple of years ago. You can find places to eat for cheap but typically a burger and fries on the Malecon is over $20 CDN...Starbucks is 105 pesos for a Grande drink which equated to $8 CDN. Also as mentioned above by another person, the towns around PV such as Bucerais have also become expensive with massive amounts of construction underway. The Mexican dream of retiring on your pension are quickly slipping away!

    @@OfftoMexico11 prices have gone up at the same time the exchange rate has worsened, so yes its not as affordable as it was even 3 years ago. BUT... why do you need to be on the coast? find a place in the interior of the country. prices are lower to much lower depending where you go. I recently spent 2 weeks in San Cristobal and rented an entire house for $28 Canadian a night. for more than a year I have been based in Guadalajara and currently am paying 10500 pesos a month for a nice apartment with a terrace in the heart of the city. there are still lots of options to live here on a budget. I dont get people's need to stay on the beach in tourist destinations.

    @@Francisco-Gumbs its not that simple to say its good for Mexican businesses. when the exchange rate is bad for foreigners it means many of them will spend less money. instead of having dinner with a glass of wine they will have dinner with a refresco. so for the same amount of money the business owner will make less profit.

There is not miles and miles of beach I walk it 20 min or less one side to the other.. as far as yoga studios there is 1 main one. There isn't a accommodation for everyone there is no high-end hotels and right now the streets are mostly ripped up and the noise that comes with that. Also it was very noisy until end of season Like i said I like your videos but this one is not balanced.. ✌🏻
