@@ParabellumStoria No, I don´t think they are compatible. My advise would be to buy Battle For Europe especially because more players have this game. It´s also newer and has more nations to play with.

@@TheFoxstory i like it becouse of history period, graphics, and mechanics. I would like to see "cossacks 4" as a remaster of cossacks 2, with nowadays graphics, more nations and units. It would be nice to set time period up to late XIX century, but still till the muskets.

The only downside of this fantastic game, online, is that cavalries tend to get way too numerous. Historically, the real percentage was around 15%. In the game, it can get over 30% and more, easily. You can see one infantry followed by 7-8 cavalries, going in battle. This happens very rarely, practically never, in my NWC mod, which limits cavalry to realistic amounts during a typical game. More info in my latest Cossacks II gameplay.

How do you turn on the bird view? I was playing this game for years and did not know that it has a bird view. :D

Just press F7 (maybe + Fn key). Very helpful in my opinion

Good gonna watch it while eating at 15:00 he lost a big opportunity he had 3 batallion+1 cav vs 2 batallion 1 cav, instead he sent 1 battallion to die for no reason alone.. he would have easly won that fight probably not losing a single one, then push ahead.. in this situation you can lure someone to shoot in a way that it not demoralize your troops, so you just get some losses and cause some losses and then use the 3rd batallion to shoot at point blank range and scatter them. This game is micro intensive you need to be there constantly to shoot at the right moment, also dunno why he do Voltigers they not worth the time, they cant sustain an exchange of volley with highlanders... you need granadiers. I notice also that he tent to form batallions with no full command group, wich is a big mistake, that morale bonus is badly needed in this game. Expecial vs a highlander spam wich is all about, i can shoot and tank your counter shoot thx to high damage and high morale. ps: never build 2 type of troops from 1 barracks, it take twice the time to have a batallion rdy, always better build only 1 kind, they form up faster and when troops scatter you have always enought to form again. (you can have stupid situation where you have 100 of 1 kind and 100 of another scatted so 200 troops but unable to form up 1 batallion wich require 120 of 1 kind) Also don push on and on when you have way inferior troops in term of morale, hold a line, and make him push so you have the "hold" bonus, on equal numbers there is no way to win vs more experienced troops you just make him stronger and stronger. see at 49:00 that granadier troop hold, even engaged by 6 enemy battalions and tanked like heroes, turning a bad fight into a good one. (thx to hold bonus) The England player is using a smart strategy he spam highlanders wich can disband enemy non granadiers troops even from distance,thx to high damage and take the counter shoot and hold thx to high morale. the only way to counter it, is to counter spam him with more units, absorb the damage, then use the extra to go and shoot him in the face... on equal numbers he will always win. Also he build the base everywhere, not a good idea, you need to make the base as compact as possible so you can cover it easly, even put some log cabins near your production/ (the top is put barraks-stables near your food production and with 1 log cabin protect all ) 50:21 big mistake from the England shoot prematurely, also why he never builded british granadiers the whole game? they would have destroyed enemy cavalry he would have the won around 30:00/40:00

Interesting to read your analysis. I think you have good points. Nevertheless in my experience luckily there is more than one strategical way to win in this game, so I´am a bit more cautious with definitive statements concerning what to do and what not to do. Only training Highlanders for example doesnt have to be bad because they are a very strong unit, although I wouldnt choose to do so because it doesnt fit my (more aggressive) playing style. And yes as far as Poland is concerned I would also have decided to go for Grenadiers earlier in the game. Haha, yes, at 49:00 the Grenadier unit which stood their ground there nearly single-handedly won the crucial battle for Poland. 50:21 really seems like a major dropout, there was no point in shooting at the time he did. Maybe he got nervous because of the Mounted Ulans or was only messing around towards the end of the game :D

@@napoleonicwarsonline Some of my statement are cathegoric based on like a thousand game in cossacks. Like dont build 2 unit at same time is not convenient, you want to slowly "sobstitute" the basic with the better ones. I think the england player playd very well with the highlanders he could have won if he was more aggressive and put into the mix some granadiers. The polish one did shitload of mistakes expecial in micro management of the units and being too wasteful of his units many time he sent a lone unit to die for no reason or keep push when he clearly didnt have the advantage.... He pretty much was in defence all game, and the only time he used the grenadier properly he won. (again some mistakes are cathegoric example when he forget to use officer/flag bearer drum etc ) Too bad game dropped i think they could fight for another hour. essentially the polish just re-estabilish a fair situation..

@@napoleonicwarsonline i buyd it but there was nobody online. also is 14 years i not play i remember all this stuff by optimizing the builds, over and over. I remember was possible to see other people games back then... But when i say is not convenient to build 2 units from 1 barracks is simple question of mathematic/optimization. Even a 300 exp basic prussian musket cant defeat a fresh england granadier unit... and since morale is "meta" for this game... is never convenient to make basic troops for more then the first 3-5 batallions unless you forced by enemy pushing you and you cant "evolve" ps my old score was 972 back then was first for long time

Can you somehow click to train just 1 formation (or 120 men) instead of training infinite amount and then disabling it?

Yes, that's possible. Alt + leftclick on the unit does this. But you will need all of the required ressources in advance.

@@napoleonicwarsonline many thanks Aaand I dont know if this is just me, but I cant really get polish heavy cav (both Krakusi and cuirassiers) to charge. When I play as Russians or Frech, heavy cav has this super fast charge during attack but polish only this slow walk as if they werent in fight

@@gmachpanstwowy6468 you are welcome! I know what you mean. And I think there really could be a bug with the Krakusi heavy cav. But with the Cuirassiers it should be possible to charge. Isn´t Jangorak doing that from 33:44? Ok, unsuccessfully ... but his heavy cav is running towards the enemy though :D

Why the hell did they get a Canadian to do the voice work instead of an Englishman? 😂 It's also a real shame they couldn't get someone who had the balls to tell them some of their script didn't make sense! imagine if they boldly shouted ''Charge Bayonets!!!'' instead of meekly saying ''start close fight'' 🤣
