Killed this collaboration with Sierra she’s amazing and the bass solo kicked ass too. I hope Wong notes keep expanding their catalog to different genres besides funk because this is amazing.

Incredible. I'm not the first to point it out, but this totally brings me back to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on so many levels. And I can offer no higher praise, because they are my favorite group of all time. Everything Cory and the Wongnotes bring (brings?) to the table just absolutely wreaks of excellence. Thank you for gifting us with this fantastic music. And I've never heard someone funk on the mandolin quite like that before. I mean, Chris Thile definitely does his thing, but that was so funky towards the end of that solo, that it was funkay! Well done.

Sierra Hull, amazing musician. Love her sound and every note she played.
Sonny T is a bad, bad man! 2:25 in particular, and all of the solos were incredible here! Shoutout to Michael B. Nelson for some amazing 'soft' horns part writing that is absolutely perfect for this song. From the very beginning 0:18 the horn section just makes you feel good.

The horns after 6:40 are especially gorgeous. I can't understand how they can be the most filthy dirty stank funkers one minute and then be so pretty sounding

Yes! this moment is truly awesome. Sierra and Sonny are having a conversation through this whole song. She's lightly riffing on what he's doing through his whole solo and vice versa. One great moment is @2:57 -- and he's right there with her @5:34.
Feels like we drove off the freeway and on to a gravel road on that one. Beautiful song and a nice detour for the band.
Amazing! Flecktones vibes.

I still can't get over how he got half the stage in the Billy Strings "nostalgia" episode. They did a "flashback to a prior gig" skit earlier in the episode, where they were making fun of him for taking up half of a tiny crowded stage, and I thought, well that came out of the blue! Then later, during the Billy jam, they show everyone else playing in this tiny space, and they pan over to the keyboardist, and he's got a couch fort made out of a B3 and Rhodes and who knows what else, taking up half the space. He might've been sitting in a lazy-boy, I can't remember. Seems probable.😂 He earns his rent tho, for sure.

This is my favorite comment. Exactly what I heard, feel and saw when watching/listening to this video. The woodwinds (Eddie Barbash!!!!) and the horns near the end are of conservatory level excellence. Corey Wong - you are a fabulous bandleader for working so hard to get the talent and then corral them all to play like the Basie band did.
Had I not seen the title I would have guessed this was a Bela Fleck and the Flecktones song. Loved it.

Definitely has some Big Country Flecktones vibes. Love it.
I was going to say everyone should have someone in their life that looks at them the way Cory looks at Sierra, but after a third watch, it's the whole darn band! Just staring in amazement and joy as Sierra absolutely crushes her mandolin! The whole horn section is leaning back going Holy Smokes what did I just hear! And that's high praise coming from the Wongnotes as they are all absolutely stunning musicians! I'd go see this concert in a heart beat.
That drummer must be is a freakin' blast to play with .
Sierra and Sonny both slayed on this.

She's something else on that Mandolin. Brilliant player.
I’ve known Petar a LONG time , so I realise his juju is so strong. Come on though, Kevin, Kevin is magic on the keys to the point you don’t even realise he is the plate holding this cuisine together. Amazing.
I could hear Cory's laugh at the end, even though it wasn't in the mix. Good job, guys!

Nêgah is what puts the pure joy into these performances. I wish she could be more prominent.
Holy guacamole that was impressive! I really want to give Michael Nelson a nod here for the extraordinary horn arrangement - the whole thing is amazingly arranged but dang those horns. I hear a bit of Jimmy Pankow in there with some really unique voicings, so creative. And Sierra is a boss.
Sonny's solo into the whole band coming back in straight into Sierra's solo is very satisfying. I don't have the vocabulary to really discuss how much I dig it.
Oh man that bass solo is fantastic, this sound stage blows my mind. Sooooooo much talent all the way around
witnessing such a level of musicality, skill and talent warms the heart, feeds the soul and blows the mind : )
I saw them play this at Show in February. It made me cry. I've been hoping for a recorded version forever, and I was so happy to see this pop up today. So good.
The solo from Sierra was the best mandoline solo ive heard , hollly groove woaw , nice rythm
It was such a treat seeing Sierra with you in Philly earlier this year. Keep on being amazing!
Honestly, this is probably my favorite song right now. Everything about it makes me so happy. That chorus, that bass solo, Sierra's solo...amazing stuff.
I have to lose a few more words on this. It's so easy to end up doing something cheesy, when you're not really familiar with this kind of music. You didn't. You hit all the sweet spots I can imagine in a piece of music like this. I'm smiling from ear to ear. Thank You all!
Phenomenal
Holy shit this is kicking!!! Cory Wong is the best thing about music right now.
