    If it weren't for those straight lines it'd be a lot easier to track that ZO6 down. The Miata is absolutely reeling him in in the corners and just when he has him on the hook they catch a straight

    the c6 has a very well designed chassis and the suspension can be adjusted for race mode, also we don’t know what tire compound is using anyway it should be able to take the slow speed turns just as quickly as the miata and probably faster in high speed corners because of better stability at speed. mx5 was also helped by the big rear wing.

  • @driver46

    @driver46

    C6 is definately faster car than NC , it was just the driving that wasn't at the highest level in this case . Also for slow corners weight plays a big role and NC is much lighter car.

    Awesome !!! it really is phenomenal level of grip . Tires will last only two track days if you give them hard time like in this video but grip is higher than any 100 tread wear tire . A052 are faster than any tire on the market but racing slicks I got over second better times than with Bridgestone 71r (and those are very very good tires )

    Funny! I had a modded C5Z that was basically a T2 race car. It passed MANY faster cars because those guys have the traction control on and have no idea the limits of the car, so slow down way too much in corners. Their computer is driving their car and they don't dare turn it off so they can truly learn. I also had an SSM Spec Miata that was extremely frustrating at track days because they hold you up in corners but never let you pass. I let a C7 Z06 by on the front straight at the Glen, then almost hit him in the ass because he slowed down to a ridicules slow speed in turn one, even though he had massive cornering capabilities. I literally had to slam on the brakes. It's such frustrating BS I just went racing instead--much higher quality drivers you can trust more. You should go racing, heck I'm frustrated watching...lol.

    I see on your final lap you went 1 min 29.xx. Not to take anything away from you, great driving all the way. And no doubt Miata is a great car but let's be realistic here. Vette needs a driver mod in the worst way. Vette has more power, grip, and better braking. The driver just needs to exploit these advantages. As someone mentioned he is talented once the road is straight. Z06 with a decent driver would easily go under 1 min 25 on Streets. I bet you'd go well under that with your skill. Probst went 1 min 20 and change in a stock Z06 with Z07 aero pkg.

  • @driver46

    @driver46

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I agree . Stock Miata can't be faster than Z06 if drivers are at same level but in my experiance big factor is value of the car too. Rarely people push the 35K + cars same way they would car that costs 5K . Also it takes way more practice and talent to extract 95% from 500hp+ than from 160 to 200hp. I apriciate your coment .

    @@driver46 Ture but there are a few of us out there that push these cars hard. I came out of a Z06 and moved to a SS 1LE because it was more track ready without cooling issues when pushed very hard for long session. Limp mode = no fun regardless of the badge on the front. By the way, I came across this video while researching turbo Miata's. I am seriously considering this route as a second track toy. The idea is more of everything with constraint and reliability in mind without the usual headaches associated with a pure track car. I'm thinking around ~ 290 - 310WHP with a built/forged motor along with proper cooling, brakes, suspension...etc. A few years back I owned an NA and it was a great car, very reliable, and superb balance with good feedback. Always wanted more power and brakes but isn't that true for most of us track rats?

  • @driver46

    @driver46

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@FL50ssp I am all for SS way better than Vett out of box . I keep messing with NC because it is so cheap to run that I have zero stress about it . If you get Miata get NC for cheap and spare engines 2.5 from Ford Fusion are from 200 to 450$ and those hold 300whp with turbo on stock internals . The biggest fun for me is how light it is and that makes it drive almost like shifter kart
