In this video I have been skip raiding and saved a mower, a 70s radio and lovely 70s clock. I also attempt a repair on a high end battery charger.

Time waits for no one Pete ⌚⏰🤪!
A man called Gerry Wells started this museum, in West Norwood, there was a dark side. Sadly passed, he also produced his own valve based bw tv's including his own wood cabinets.
I like these videos . Usesd to get stuff from the dump myself before the council suited executive mob got involved and spoiled the fun . That clock probably came from an old biddy n a care home hence the Electrical safety sticker that has been applied. Looks like Argos or Littlewoods catalogue fare. The blades on that lawnmower look hardly used have the bean counters sourced cheap inferior bearing and clutch parts? The death of many good uk manufacturers.
Hi all.
🤘😎🤘🎼
I enjoyed that, cheers pal. The tip thing drives me wild, all that usable stuff being wasted are we as a whole attempting to recycle stuff or not even going to the tip often eaves me in a foul mood the people working there seem to consider themselves to be masters or at least dictators of the universe! 🙂.... I remember being told as a kid to "work hard at school, pass all your exams and behave" if you don't you might end up working on the bins or at the tip, this being considered the lowest of the low, how things change eh. No wonder a lot of people make little attempt to even sort out domestic waste or worse still just cut to the chase avoid the shitty experience it's possible costs and fly tip. (Fly tipping depresses me so much) Keep at it Pete it's all good therapy and good for the soul.
You're so right about the jobsworth lot. You're also so right that we should in fact be encouraged to take stuff away, its a genuine way of recycling. Miserable lot, and regret to say, they really have no ability to contribute anything more useful with their lives.
It's crazy what some people throw away! and disgusting when people don't want anyone to have it and would rather see it get crushed.
Giving things away can get no interst so the tip is the only option.
Loved this video! I note that clock had a pat test sticker on so must have spent some time in a commercial setting? a nursing home maybe? I started work in an electrical retailers in 1976 and although I don't recall that radio I remember selling the "Yacht boy" 🙂

Great point!
i had a lawn mower from the skip it was brand new never cut a blade of grass someone had filled it with oil to the top you could' get another drop in
Pete, the tip nazis would have been on your case because electronic devices are shredded and seperated for the precious metal recovery. Like you say it is better to re-use the stuff but they are in it for the money. I'm an e-waste recycler but I think like you, I'd rather it be re-used than just broken up. Take PCs for example, there's lots of people that can upgrade their current PC with a used power supply, motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc. Shredding it all should be the last resort.
Hi Pete ,anything you can do to help deal with things in you head is good I can suffer to my friend and I find keeping myself busy works best for myself personally whatever that might be I’ve actually just recently written an Album and play all the instruments in the songs . Been a drummer for 50 years but taught myself how to play whatever else I needed to to get buy . Im certainly no master at any of them but I get by and more importantly it never ends so it keeps me focused on something 👍

same here I do a bit of guitar and stand up poetry/comedy. I find gigging helps a lot for me. I do like to do my live stage shows when I can on the local open mike circuits.

Hey Pete, great video! Looking forward to seeing your 90s Car footage! Just managed to get an old 1986 Philips VHS Camcorder working and planning to take it to car shows. Going to try it at Capesthorne tomorrow if the battery holds out haha. Great you saved some of these items from destruction.
