    Great Vid, easy to follow. swapping polarity was a little tricky. At testing, ICUE software remained unable to recognize the battery. The Charging indicator remained Red and panic set in since this is what the old dead battery status was. checked all connections, went inside pc to verify everything. all ok. so to the forums i went. Someone indicated a hold down for 10secs on the power button clears the software. So sure enough, it worked and all is fine. Charging and working Great.

    Thanks for the video, replacing it was very easy. I do notice something weird though, while the duration overall is definitely longer, the iCUE and other third party apps always report the battery level at 86% or so every time I unplug them after charging. My guess is that it has something to do with the firmware being programmed for the original battery size, is there anything else to do here other than the physical replacement?

  • @CentralSound

    @CentralSound

    From my measurements, as long as you're in the range of these dimensions: Length - 52mm; Width - 35mm; Height - 10mm Going off my research the 1800mAh batteries are slightly below that dimension range in every aspect. You should be good to go with that one. I myself am looking for a solution to replace my blown battery with... It's impressive that it has gone from stock 5mm thickness to 9mm (even then it fits pretty well and there's no pressure against the speaker + 1mm extra comes from the adhesive strip)

    Yeah, the HS70 normal (non-pro) version is like that. I have both at home (pro is mine and "normal" one is my husband's) and opened them to try to exchange the batteries cause my pro battery has been dead for months and my husband has another headset and is not using his "normal" anymore. Nasty surprise. Even the battery capacity and tension are the same, it's ridiculous that the said pro version does not carry any improvement on that... it's barely better just for its ease in swapping batteries. Oh and my pro original battery is swollen like it's about to pop 4 babies out of it (of course it's not going back in my headset). And it came directly from Corsair RMA to replace my HS70 normal. Total bummer.

    @@jodawgsup You have to clip the plug from the new battery, and the wire from the old one and solder the leftover wires and the new battery wires together. I wouldn't touch the solder directly on the board as some of the wires looks just too delicate to mess with them. For me at least, it went easier working with the wires only. I'm through with my 2nd battery change by now, altought I swapped for 1200mAh versions. All working fine.

    Battery life on my HS70 pro is currently about 4-5 minutes (do I win anything for lowest battery life? :P ) and as its well over 2 years old now Corsair support just advised me to buy a new headset so I'm really glad I found this easy to follow guide. Just ordered a 1000mah battery and am looking forward to being to relax with it unplugged again.

    Battery life on my HS70 is non-existent. A little over a week ago it was 30min, but each day the charge dropped by 10min, currently the blown battery serves as a buffer because without it the headset only plays for 5seconds and abruptly shuts down and doesn't turn back on until you disconnect and reconnect the USB

    Anybody here have experience fixing corsair HS50 and HS70 pro wireless? Do they have the same pcb? Broke my hs70 pro volume wheel and I have an old hs50 laying around. I dismantled it and having trouble finding a layout of the hs70 pro wireless online. Do they look the same for those who have fixed and hs70 pro wireless before? Thanks so much!

    @@dr.kashie1513 2 wire battery works, but it'd be recommended to have the 3rd wire as a security measure so the battery wouldn't explode because of overcharging. In reddit regarding this topic some have mentioned that everything works alright, but it can cause the microphone button to not work for some odd reason.
