Corsa C, best looking small hatch of its generation (Full Review)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

My thoughts on the popular Vauxhall/Opel Corsa C (3rd Generation). Can the tiny 1 litre three cylinder engine handle the hills and twisty roads of the Peak District?
Produced from 2000 - 2006, the Corsa C was one of Britain and Europe's best selling cars.
This particular car is a 2003 3 door 1.0 litre.
Covers Corsas sold in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Opel Corsa C 1.0 My first car i bought in 2015 and the car i still use after 7 years. Never let me down. It was always there when i needed it. People, friends, girlfriends come and go but the little Corsa, the god of old cars, is still there for a long night drive to ease your heart.

My girlfriend got one of these for her first car as a hand-me-down from her older sister. 1.2 16V Comfort, 84K on the clock and for a car that's 20 years old, it runs perfectly sweet! Front electric windows, central locking and air con, nice little spec for a first car! Had to spend about £500 to get new brake discs, pads, drums and caliper pins but that's 20 years of wear and tear... Looking on Autotrader, equivalent cars of that spec and age are going for £1200-£1750!! Bargain really to spend £500 to keep it safe. After a full service as well it's running as sweet as a nut. Great little car and great, in-depth review, cheers!

My son's got a 1.2Twinport Design on a 05 plate. His first car. Taught him to drive and pass test in it. I'm reliving my teen years by pimping it up for him, he's not into cars, put SXI seats and the white speed, rev etc clocks and front bumper with fog lights in/on it. Redone all the brake lines and am getting Corsa alloys on soon. Cured the infamous footwell leaks(thank the maker for KZread vids) and now he's got Aircon (standard on the Design) and SXI add-ons. Upgraded the stereo to a cheap Chinese touch screen flip up, also changed the internal dash lights to green LEDs. Nice vid btw.

Love this! That is exactly what I would do if I had a son and he had his first car. Do you take it out for a drive while he's not watching? This car actually has the footwell leaks, something that I intend to help the owner with... one day

@@JJonCars He's using it for work but I have used it when my car's off the road. If you do attempt the footwell leak I advise you to watch a few vids first, best of the lot is Savage Garage. Awkward as hell but so satisfying when it's done and no soggy carpets. Wish I'd had KZread in my teens it would have saved me loads. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hXuXo9OMka2vmbg.html

Much better looking than those that came after and huge improvement on previous model if only for a more roomy footwell and better space all around. The three cylinder 1.0 is very gruff but able, the 1.2 not as economical as you'd expect. But I loved it then and still do. Great real world review. Keep them coming.

This video brings back good memories of a 1.2 Design Corsa C I had. Such a good runabout, a well made car too, and yes, a good looking car ( mine was silver). Everything in proportion, I believe the designer was Japanese, and it has a Japanese neatness to it. It was followed by a Corsa D, which I have to say, was a better car, with a much smoother ride. Thumbs up for Corsas!

this is my first car, i just bought it 2 months ago (december 29, 2021) it's a 5 door 2004 (second generation) Corsa C although it's an Opel because we don't call them Vauxhall here, in general it's pretty good for an 18 years old car! still tweaking some of the accessories myself because the previous owner, wasn't really a care taker of it, other than that it's great! looks great, drives good, 3 cylinder 1.0 liters engin, good fuel economy, single airbag, no air conditioner, only heater, standard manual windows ,manual transmission, manual door locks manual everything with 249k kilometers on it.

My two have passed their tests in it, too, and I’m keeping it for me, until my third child is old enough to pass his test in it in a couple of years time. It’s on 117,500 miles and still going strong. The parts for these cars are extremely cheap, too. I’ve just put four new suspension struts on it, for £85.00! All the best.👍🏾🛠🇬🇧

I’ve done many thousands of miles myself in a Corsa C but with the Fiat made 1.3CDTI engine, which is a good little engine and pretty good on the fuel. The car itself is pretty good to drive as well, my only gripe is the dull interior, almost like it’s an afterthought. I think it’s a better looking car than it’s successors though, still a very popular 1st car choice or as a cheap runabout. The oil does need to be changed on time otherwise the camchain stretches and you get that horrible camchain chatter which signals the time for an expensive camchain change. Good vid and review though mate, thanks.👍

Well you've taught me something there - I assumed all the Corsa C diesel engines were that Isuzu 1.7 unit :) Yes you're right the interior is quite dull - it's very grey! But it's not horrible, just dull. And it's definitely better looking than the Corsa D/E. Cheers mate!
