COROT IN THE ENCHANTED VALLEY

This video describes the experience of painting in the valley of Terni told by one of the greatest landscape painters of the nineteenth century in the history of art, Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot (Paris, 16 July 1796 - Paris, 22 February 1875) .
The artist narrates, with the images, his first trip to Italy, in 1825-26 with particular reference to the "ternano" period: paintings, drawings, sentences, impressions, news, Italian light, his live two moments, the first painting and the camera then, the relationship with his parents, and the intense moments spent in the valley of Terni in places dear to him, the Marmore Falls, the bridge of Augustus in Narni, the lake of Piediluco.

    Beautiful. Corot was a profound artist and his paintings were pure poetry. This short film does justice to Corot's beauty and greatness.
