Joining the navy would be a good opportunity for Simon, like he said it would be good to see the world and get new friends. I can understand Leannes perspective but she needs to respect that Simon is growing up and needs to let him be mature enough to make his own decisions.

I think he's too young to be joining, wait until he's eighteen and see then if it's something he really wants to do. But Leanne controlling the situation and being completely against it, won't help any. Listen to him and calmly talk before getting worked up. Who knows with time, he might turn his attention to something else, but now he's probably going to jump in just to show her.

It should be Simon's choice. If Simon wanted to do it they should let him. He's old enough to make his own decisions

So true. Poor Leanne brought up Peter's Son when he was Drunk and got cheated on and beaten up for her kindness. Simon can go off to fight a war but he or Peter can't show the Woman he calls Mum an ounce of respect. Leanne seriously needs to realise her worth and find herself a family who appreciate her and not pick and choose when to call her Mum.

@@laminage Step Children in Soap often seem to be from hell 😀 Starts off with a shock request "Mummy I murdered my Sister can you dump her dead body on the Common for me please?" then finishes off with "You Ain't My Mum and now you will die on my Hockey Stick of death!" 😂 The list of long suffering and underappreciated Soap Mum's is sadly a long one.
